Hey dude nice group of ladies you have there. I'll be watching this one to the the end, I'm very interested in the 357's thinking this is the brand to get right now.
I have one question do you need 2 357's to cover a 4x4 area. the company says 1 will cover a 4x4 area whats your take on that.

peace beeobee

I think you could definately run the light higher than I am and cover a 4x3 area if you had shorter plants. My ladies are two feet tall and I'm getting great bud development even into the lower branches. I'm restricted on plant numbers so running bigger girls.

I really feel that 50% of HID wattage is good to aim for to keep realistic expectations. You can cover a 4x4 table with a 400 watts of HID if you are seaofgreen or scroging so I suppose that 200 watts of LED would produce similar results. I used to run a 600HPS with a bit deeper canopy on a 4x4 so right now I've got 360W replacing my old 600 and I think it's gonna slightly outperform my old 600 but time will tell.

That's the proof I was looking for.

Just learned of the 357 and have been scouring through the limited information out on the web about it right now. Looks like this LED light actually produces the results that they claim it does. Flowering with an LED alone actually is possible after all, with results as good or better than a HPS, and using approximately half the electricity. huh, cool... This technology is going to be a game changer for sure. It sounds like the 357 has been vigorously developed and is well dialed in for 1 purpose only. To me, 12 spectrum sums it up pretty well. Pay close attention to the plants total needs. I'm excited to hear more about this product and to learn what comes next.

Any idea where I can get some of that foil bubble wrap you mentioned? I've found some online, but would prefer to get it at a store.

I'm in Canada and they sell it at Home Depot and Rona. Should find it at any building supply center that sells insulation. Here it is called Reflectix Bubble Pack. It is used in building to put against bare concrete walls before they frame inside to stop condensation from forming on the concrete and rotting the wood.

Awesome, thanks!

Better then HPS? that'll never happen with current LED technology sorry to say. How many lumens one of those kick out? I seriously doubt it would stack up to a Ushio 1000k @ 147,000 lumens and penetration that even Ron Jeremy would be envois of lol.

If you look up lumens that is brightness according to how the human eye perceives light. It is generally accepted that plants respond best to light in the PAR spectrum which is pretty much the opposite of lumens. We are most sensitive to spectrums in the middle of the visible spectrum. Plants are most sensitive to light at the ends, red and blue.

If you look at my last journal I kinda screwed up and still hit .9 grams per watt. Considering a 1000HPS actually draws almost 1100 (mine used to hit anywhere from 1070-1095) then to get the same yield with a 1000HPS you'd need to yield about 2.2 pounds to reach my "bad" result. I think it's fair to say that you're doing great if you get 2 pounds a light with HPS. My personal best was 7 pounds of 4 lights and I felt I had it dialed. That still doesn't match my last LED grow.

I think it's safe to say that this generation of LED (if you buy a decent product) is better than HPS.

Let the war begin.....lol

Day 21 of Flower.

5 weeks to go and already I'm impressed with the bud development. I've heard PK is a quick starter but hard not to get excited :)

@ dunit
Great photos, but you should them under "normal" lights. Or turn of the lights for a moment and use the flash, if it's a decent camera :)

I've tried straight flash and get a really stark picture with lots of shadows. I've got a remote flash and I'll try that.

Ill be watching.

Probably not the same genes but I have a nice heavy yielding PK cut. Been thinking about the LEDS, have a friend with them. Summer is coming up and it is going to get really really hot this year.

How much does one of those 357 Magnum LEDs run?
