Sea Green?! I don't know about that in RDWC. Have you seen what happens when you bubble just 5ml in 5 gal? Foamy as shit. I think its a great product, I use if frequently and work with their company a lot, but probably a little messy for this application. I think if one wanted you use it, it would be best to either 1) foliar at normal dosage or 2) crown feed at a diluted rate.

I have actually seen the bubbles in action, got one of those little sample bottles of sea green couple months back added to some EWC tea, I was like

"what the hell are all these damn bubbles, did I spill soap up in this bitch?"

I wondered at the time if the bubbles contain beneficals as well and if by bubbling up into the lavarock in the net pot if its helpful in anyway.


So have you had bad results with it in your res or just think it would be a bad idea?

I second aquashield. Haven't had an issue ever using aquashield and I keep my chiller dialed in at 66 as well. Seems to be a nice combo. I am shocked 4 people voted for great white in the UC. Everytime I have seen that and hygrozyme used in the UC its been an epic failure.

I like the great white as a crown feed but really dont see a difference in root growth. If in ebb & flo or drip its the shit

I'm mostly a soil guy now and have not yet put Sea Green into my UC system. I brew a lot of compost tea these days, using Sea Green. Just seeing the results from just bubbling a compost tea, I know most gardeners aren't going to want to clean their rooms every day. The foam it leaves is black and doesn't stain, but cleaning that everyday would be a nightmare.

Sea Green is crawling with life, MAD bacteria(benes of course)!

I like to use only 1 ml/gal in veg and will step it up to 2ml in mid flower. Again, I never have used it in UC/RDWC, so I had no reason to use less than 1 ml/gal.

crown feed a day or two before flush. I dont use it all the time just a few times in veg. It seems to do fine.

Great white is a beni inoculate.
I never used the bloombastic, went to the atami site and it said the following.

"Bloombastic is a revolutionary nutritional supplement based on optimal levels of bio mineral nutrients combined with our next generation ATA biological stimulants to create a one of a kind nutrient additive specifically designed for the flowering and ripening of your plants."

Sounds like a bloom booster, but im not really to sure..

Yes medi i run bleach in all my ucs at every nute change out. ANd while i run chlorine, and will tell you how and why i run it i will not tell others to use it. Its dangerous both to you as well as your plants and i dont want that on my head. =P

That being said... No one currently understands why chorine acts as a sterilizing agent, however we know that it sterilizes. For now the best guess is that it has something to do with its oxidization process. the process of oxidization is modified by many factors including the current buffers in your water, time, your ph, and the bacteria present in your system.

The lower your pH the stronger your dosage (at any rate) will be. The lower your ppm, (less buffers) the stronger your dosage (at any rate) will be. The longer chlorine is active the lower your dosage will be (half life of 2-3 days). The more bacteria killed the faster chlorine will oxidize.

I cant tell you how to use bleach effectively in your system, But it is a cheap easy effective way to treat many problems and is widely used in the agriculture industry. The above is meant to inform the reader of the complexities of its use and the below is how i use it in my own systems...

In my UCs and on my tables i use bleach at every nute change out... Benies or not (the death of both fungi and bacterial forms of beneficials is part of the nitrification, ect cycle). I run 1 ml per 10 gal of industrial clorox (5.25% bleach) for 1 hour plus drain time (w/drip) for ucs, and for the last 1-2 days on tables. i do this at a ph of 5.5-6.0 and with a full nute solution (lots of buffer). This dosage seems to be just enough to manage bacteria and i do increase dosage for some other issues at times.... (pic has more info if your interested.)

I clean all my stuff with bleach at a rate of 10% the only down side, ruined clothes. I let my hydro tron soak overnight in it than flush and reuse.
