When plants re-veg, growth slows, so it can DEFINITELY hurt your potential yields. As for the male-female thing I have no idea.

What do you think the effects of a reveg are on yield? I mean in those sample shots I found online they look like clones. I have had clones do this and then reveg and be fine. Although reveg usually creates a very branchy plant once vegging resumes. I wonder if this has a negative effect on yield? How come my males are having a harder time revegging then the females of the same seed lot? Maybe males have a harder time reversing back to veg? Thoughts?

Cheers,
Crom
Are you trying to get them back into veg? If so, try pushing N a bit harder and add some alfalfa tea to the mix, as the alfalfa seems to seriously spur vegetative growth. So much so that I will not use it on girls that are well into flower.

I've got 2 bubba kush, and an og kush all about 2 1/2 to 3' tall that have been outside this whole last month (started from clones in Feb under lights) and they went seriously into flower and don't seem to want to quit. The 2 granddaddys look like they are reveging and I hope the purple kush also.
Wondering at what point I should give up on the first 3 and start feeding bloom and harvest in late July? 2 odesseys stayed in veg and are now in the ground in a greenhouse.
Everyone else is in the greenhouse but in 65 gal smart pots.

I've been feeding a heavy nitrogen but I'll try the alfalfa.

Good info Sea. Yeah I want them all to be vegging. My male AOG stretched after being topped to remove the flowers, and started another set of male flowers again. I am wondering if I should just clone him and chop the confused plant. I want this male but it seems to be very photosensitive. I'll step up the N and see if that helps. I'm using most of the Earth Juice line with some Rapid Start Rooter and Great White. Anyone run EJ before? What's the deal with the Ph? Should I Ph my solution or not?

Cheers,
Crom

Crom, I'm ignoring the ph. Runoff seems ph neutral with roots soil. My water is between 6 and 7. So far so good. There is an extensive thread here by BAYAREA on EJ and hygrozome.

Yep Outside since 4-20

I started with a hoop house that got a bit complex with supplemental lights, vents and heaters so I guess it was a greenhouse...

April 20, 2011...after vegging in a tent for 30 days...then in the ground...

Damn Xrancher that looks like a nice hoop house/greenhouse! Any chance you took shots as you built it? That would be a nice DIY thread to share! I have been tossing the idea back and forth weather or not I'd like that approach or not. Seems like a grip of work to get going, but after that initial set up, and expense it's much cheaper in successive seasons, I bet. I wish I would have used more sup lighting:( I am battling the reveg of 2 males that I never intended to flower until later! The females are snapping out of it though so that's good. Hope I get some pollen off this Aliendawg for F3s! I need to collect some when I get a chance, after pollen starts dropping of course. My male Alien OG blew a peter north sized cloud of pollen this morning when I rotated him! So if anyone gets a random pollination in SoCal and the progeny looks to be Alien OG related I'm sorry, unless it's fire lol. I sound like Monsanto lol Anyway I type too much. Have a great morning Farmers and keep it green!

Cheers,
Crom

<hangs head> Now, there's someone who knows how to plan ahead. And that someone ain't me. XRancher, damn. Great head start.

Crom, those males will eventually snap out of it, but if they don't, maybe you can try storing the pollen. I've got some that's two years old, we'll see how viable it is, I've been working hard to keep it dry.

Sounds good Sea. I concur that Xrancher is doing good things! I'll be attempting to collect and store some pollen here in the next few days. Worse case I find another male.

Every of of mine are still struggling with tons of bud sites that have vegged over. Exception is the odesseys. Never really went into flower and are doing fine.
My question is are the others worth the expense and time to bring along? 1,3 are purple kush; 2 bubba,4,5,6, grandaddys; 7 odessey, 8 gdp.

Time, sure, why not? They just sit there, right? Feed 'em with pee, no expense. <insert big cheesy grin here>

Thanks for the kind words crom...here's a link to my grow diary if anyone wants to see my struggles...and some building shots...

I would be happy to share my building techniques...maybe I should start a thread for the DIY bunch of farmers.

I built greenhouses for a living in another life and still made mistakes...lol

Once you start enclosing the ends that's where the time and money go...not to mention the $$$$ in propane during that cold Nor Cal Spring...if that's what it was...Spring I mean.

Thanks Seamaiden, I was on a mission this year...I guess it's starting to show what a lot of inspiration, a bunch of sweat and a bit of investment can do...I'm trying to kill my procrastination gene...and damn it's hard...but I just go back for a look at hl's thread and get re-energized.

Supplemental light is the way to go...I used 65 watt CFLs 5500k in the evening for a few hours and morning before dawn a few hours...does wonders to keep them in total veg.
I noticed your location says coastal...I always left my supplemental lights on when foggy or overcast. Worked for me...good luck!

Here's some porn for you xrancher!

Thanks crom! that's exactly the kind of inspiration I crave!

I grow for the love of the herb and to ease the pain in my body and my patients as well...if I cover expenses and help my chronically ill friends to get some relief, I've achieved my goal.

I still have a lot to learn...I'm already planning next years grow...surprises are in store for me...I can feel it.

Thanks again for the vid...although I didn't see my county listed...yet...I'm sure it will be one of the most sought after growing regions for Cannabis in the years to come...unfortunately I'm moving to one of the counties I saw listed in the vid next year...not that it's a bad thing...but I live in a fucking cool place and have known most of my neighbors for 45 years.
Nothing ever stays the same...change is the only constant...so I'm diggin starting a new adventure.
Man...I really seem to ramble watching that vid and toking some 2010 TrainWreck...lifes a bitch...no...it's what Betty Davis said...
“Old age is no place for sissies”and that's a nugget.

So so some people take flowering plants outside and they finish flowering? I know they can do that but what is the likely hood that they do? If they are say 3 or 4 weeks into flowering already?
