Oscillating fan method during flowering

Hi,
Curious as to where you hit the plants in flowering. I've heard not to have the fan blowing directly on the buds, so should it be blowing b/w the lights and top of the leaves or towards the bottom of the stalks? I have not pruned the bottoms so not sure if that makes a difference.
Thx!

I've always had air movement over the crops, during veg and flower. Never had a negative issue from it. I believe more air circulation the less chance of mold. Why havent u pruned your lowers yet, too early?

Wk 3 of flower- not too early, just my first time growing so I'm reluctant. Also, I'm running in 8 gallon buckets with magnum ocho air cooled reflectors (they're huge!) so plants have a lot of room to get light, even towards the bottom.

They say it will hyper-dehydrate your plants but i believe its a myth. Check out the infinite breeze oscillating fan. Awesome new fan for sure. Check it out

I have two 12 inch oscillating fans running non stop when the lights are on. One is on one side of the room just above the canopy aiming down into the canopy. The other is on the opposite side of the room sitting on the ground aimed at the tops of the pots. I like to see a fair amount of movement in the garden as I do when I look outside. It helps change over the air near the leaves for fresh CO2 (per Jorge Cervantes Grow Bible) and it also helps keep PM away.

The only time I notice stress on some leaves are if a few branches grow too close to the fan and get constant air blast (vrs the periodic from the oscillating). If this happens they claw down some and get brittle/dry

I know this thread is like 6 months old, but if your still not pruning the lower branches because your "reluctant" then you should start ASAP. I prune after I top my 6" plants so there are only 4-6 branches, then I prune again before flower, I then prune after the 2 week stretch. It won't stress your plants alot if you prune over a 2-3 day period, instead of doing it all at the same time. It really helps with air flow and reduces the chance of mold/mildew and fungi, it also increases the size of your top colas because your plants wont use as much energy trying to grow popcorn bud.

I have air moving over the tops and floor box type fans moving the air over the pots

if your fans are too close or too high blowing directly on the plant they will dry the shit out of the leaves
wow never knew that, all this time i thought it was something (bug related) else causing my leaves to dry out. could be true because i've check the root zone and foliage and besides a couple of gnats flying around i can't find any bugs on either of the two.

The norm is having a 12-18" fan on moving side to side. Hang 5" feet from floor on wall. With several lamps. One between 2 lights. If thigh on money. You can get away 2 fans for 4 lights. The best way to see if all your leaves are moving so often. Keep fans on 24/7

I use wall fans but floor fans are much better. Wall fans can not penetrate very deep. Also someone above mentioned fans only during lights on. You need them more for health at night because they dump a lot of moisture.

I keep my regular fans on during lights on, and a dehumidifier on during lights off. If not, the humidity jumps way up.

In trees a dehuey will not remove a lot of moisture within the trees. If you can put a remote ro meter above your girls or in an aisle then put one about 15" inside the plant. Look at those reading 2-3 hours after lights out. I too use dehueys but I rely on trimming 10-12" of all branches and a floor fan. This will allow air to flow up thru the middle of your plants giving you co2 in the day and removing moisture at night. Suerte JK

the dehuey sits on the ground and blows like a fan towards the bottoms. It doesn't oscillate though.. and I've never checked the RH inside the branches like that though. I shall give it a try and see.

During lights on I prefer many fans running at low speed, above and below, so I'm covered there. I just have them shut off during lights off to save $$

If they are healthy trees you must be doing it right. JK
