So I am building my first complete vertical UC room. I am building from scratch I was hoping some of you farmers can make sure I am on the right track.

Here is the setup
24 ft x 28 ft
2 30,000 btu split unit ac
1 hp chiller
16 k hps cool tube 's
16 gallon totes
250 gph danner
alita -80
alita -15
Plant spacing 60 inch centers
lights spacing 60 inch apart
gen 2 - 8 burner natural gas
4- 6 week veg minimum.

My questions are :
Is that spacing to far ?
(I almost went with 45-55 inch spacing but I want to get good air flow)
Does it seem like a over all solid plan?
How many lights per 6 inch fan is 2 the best way?

All the plants I have been growing have been to big for 28-30 inch centers I have to cut off to much plant like this so. I am hoping this will give the plants the space they need to grow to full potential.

Any input is much appreciated

You should move the center light from top and bottom row and place it in the middle of each of the rows on the left and right. The trade off is 4 plants that were surrounded by four lights are now surrounded by 3 lights, but you gain four additional plants that are now also surrounded by 3 lights.

Good Thinking Thanks.

60" is alot of room but with a strong and healthy 6 week veg it will be useful. have u done a schematic for the out of room equipment yet?

I have another flat system to veg for a 2-4 weeks before they even hit this system
I don't want the plants touching and when you put them closer branches seem to block out light. I have done vertical with 40 inch centers they needed way more room. What outside equipment are you referring to?
This is the base just to figure out my dimensions and spacing.

Gonna try.

Does anyone know someone who has run 60 inches?
Is it to much ?
I was originally going with 55 inches but whats 5 inches when you are talking about trees?

Hey bubble, i think your going to need some bigger air and water pumps. Its best if your turning the water over in your system multiple times per hour. I'd also size up your ac's and drop the cool tubes...

Just remember when you build out your room, your undercurrent system, cool tubes ventilation and everything, it will all need to be cleaned after each cycle. It can be very hard to move around let alone clean and sterilize a room that's set up like this. The key running successful undercurrents or mpb's on this scale is having plenty of help with the workloand and being able to keep yourself on schedule without getting overwhelmed. Designing your garden to be accessible and flexible is a realization most have as an after thought.

Good advice on the pumps.
I do like my cool tubes.
But thats a matter of preference.

We run 65" centers and after this run we will be moving them out to 70 or 75". We are running UC Pro 35 gallons modules. You will get more bang for your buck if you do 1 horiz bulb per site as well. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the advice . I am in love with the uc I have bought a few and built many lately. But I agree labor intense plants grow so fast its hard to keep up.
I already thought about adding another alita 80 to each system I also have quite a few 100 or 120 commercial ones as well. The cleaning. I am taking an idea from ghettogro I am using the black pipe connectors with the hose clamps on them for easy disassemble and cleaning. With the amount of water in the system aprox. 204 gallons and a danner 2500 gph pump that is close to 10 times an hour from my calculations the ones I bought from CC only do it 6 times an hour so I think its good. The ac's I have are doing 12 lights right now with out even both running full time one helps the other 60,000 btu 2 split units is plenty for 15 lights I guarantee that. But not without the cool tubes I am venting 2 on every fan and putting fans under the middle lights blowing up . There is 10 ft ceilings

Good advice on the pumps.

But thats a matter of preference.

Cool tubes save allot of ac but I agree they do put out more light bare bulb.
Bare bulb the room would run 80-82 degrees and the ac's would over work and freeze up all the time.

To rich for my blood. CC likes them things to much . I am gonna have to wait for someone to buy one and fail so I can buy it from them cheap.
That is what I needed to here 65+ centers! Ghettogro said his are 55 inches and they are almost touching each other from the pictures I saw. So 60 seemed right. I want plenty of air flow through the plants. I am even thinking about switching to industrial wall fans(mounted in top corners since the room is so big) The wall fans don't seem to do shit with thick foliage.
