Who knows if it works? What refrigerant? Where the valves closed before lines where cut? You will need a copper line set and indoor unit. I would be very careful.

Ya kinda what I was thinking. Would really suck if it didn't work right.

About another $1000 to $2000 in parts and labor if she's working okay. Unless your a HVAC person or have somebody that's gonna do it for you for free. How many rooms you gonna cool with this deal? You gonna need ducting? R410, breakers, outside wiring and breakers for the condensor, 240 wiring for the air handler. Just off the top of my head. Depends on how many rooms your trying to cool.

The most important aspect in our business is designing and building our environments. Before trying to find a good deal on an AC, know exactly what you will need from A to Z.

First calculate how many BTU's you will need, which I recommend 6,000 btu's per 1,000 watt light.

Then determine which style of AC you will buy. Portable, Window, Mini Split, and Central AC Split System are your options.

They all have pros and cons, but once you select which type you need, then search for deals with the BTU required. Don't search for deals first.

For 1-2 lights, you can use a portable with dual hose (1 for intake and 1 for exhaust)
3-6 lights you should use a mini split
6-12 lights you should use either 2 mini splits or a Central AC Split System.

If you are on a budget and location permits, you can use window AC's, which are very cost effective.

Just make sure you get an AC that doesn't blow the room air to the outside for CO2 and Odor control purposes.

Sweet Replys Thanks. I think its best to just buy a kit that comes with everything. I do have a HVAC buddy whos gonna get me a good deal on a 18k btu mini-split for about $1500. Just gonna throw him a ounce or two for helping me.

Just make sure that your AC comes with a "Low Ambient Air Temperature Kit" and plan ahead for the condensation drip from the air handler. You will have to deal with constant water dripping from the AC, so that water needs to be pumped to a drain, toilet, outside, where ever.

Also make sure to place your condenser in a place where people will not become suspicious from the sound of an AC running ALL THE TIME.

Hell no buy NEW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll thank me later when that old used one dies in like week 6 ......LOL :p
