I would love to start a co-op grow in Colo Spgs were we would have a small grow space to start out and build up as people recognized us. The way I want to work this is that every month there would be dues paid to the co-op for tings like nutrients and power use. Then at harvest time everyone involved would take all of there own medicine cost free. If anyone is interested in this please contact me, I would like to find some people to get this kind of thing started here in colorado.

I would talk to an MMJ attorney before you get too far into this. I don't believe that patients or caregivers can collectively grow. Not 100% sure regarding patients, but I am sure that caregivers can not collectively grow per HB10-1284. Note that the mindset of CoSprings PD is to arrest everybody and let the courts sort it out.

Not trying to crush your dream, but just know what you are up against.

There is nothing in the law that prohibit patients sharing space. I'm sure a few folks will remember the seminars offered by Adam in Steamboat regarding such collective grows. I checked it out myself.

From my understandiing though...such an entity would still need to be registered with the State and very, very tidy/concise records would need to be kept.

All-in-all it seems like a formality that you don't need to go through. Just caregive for less than 5 patients...and do the same thing without the scrutiiny/inspections/bullshit and extra COSTS.

Im going to look further into it. I didnt even think to just do it as a caregiver and maybe charge a monthly fee that way and that would cover bills and nutrients, and there would be no fee for there meds after harvest

So what kind of set up are you running now? Do you know these folks you think you are going to grow for...or is this all speculatiion and conjecture at this point?

just sell them the meds at a cost you can cover your expenses with rather than letting them think they somehow "own" a share in the grow. Too many cooks spoil the broth....er..bud....

good luck

Right now Im running a 10' x 10' hoop house a 3' x 6' x 5' cold frame and have mothers and a cloneing area inside my house. Then pretty soon Ill be useing a garage during the winter. The whole point in a fee or dues is so that the people I grow for dont have to worrie about paying for there meds, there dues would cover everything. I dont care much if you dont agree with the way I want to do things, I jus wanted to come on here and see what people in CO might think about this.

arent paying dues paying for the meds? its all about the twist at that point. like you'd rather have the money up front and have them wait for the meds (if it was twisted the other way).

all in all, there are clubs trying way harder than a garage in the winter time, and have shit figured out and are still sufferin. stay on the small scale if anything.

and CO springs??!?! fuckin double trouble if you ask me,

SOCALMMJ said it perfect, the cops are going to bust your ass, rip everything out of the ground and then ask for your paperwork.

sounds like a lot of trouble when good meds are 30/8th already. grow for yourself man, and if theres some left, then GIVE CARE.

I did something almost similar...
When I was first starting out on my own I asked smokers I knew, along with the few patients I'd signed up, to help with startup costs. When grass was still 4k/lb. I offered them $100 deferred ounces and ended up with about 3/4 of the startup capital I needed. Not exactly what you are hoping to do, but it worked well for me, and those who invested were pleased with the outcome. They asked for the same deal on subsequent grows, but after the initial run it wasn't necessary. Now my personal patients are in free meds since they smoke or otherwise consume way less than I am able to produce now.

all i would be asking my patients for is enough in dues each month to provide for electric and nutrients I have a large spot outside of what i stated above, just havent done anything with it because i usually grow for myself. But thank you all for your input

your intentions sound good, but getting a bunch of new people involved, trying to build trust, getting fucked-over/arrested/holding-bag, all way more stress than anyone needs.

WTF? Yer trying to give me shit for offering honest opinion in response to your stupid questions?

Lemme clarify right up front >richard< that I could care less what the Hell you do...nor do I believc you know what you are doing or are getting into.....or that you even have a clue that you are only about the zillionth guy since 2009 to have/carry out the same idea. (with varying results according to experience, people skills and the luck of the draw with "patients" I might add)

but have fun with the idea, bro....and hey....gimme a call if you need help cleaning out mom's garage.

My question is Do You have the skills to grow GOOD smoke dependably? In the Denver area a skilled grower with clean quality medicinal grade bud can wright their own ticket legal or underground. People saying the markets flooded and all the crap are pretty misinformed. Of course it varies by season but right now I could move a truck load of good bud at top dolar wthin a few blocks of my house in an hour. Most farmers let greed n drama beat them way before they acquire real skill. So if there is no shame to your game blow our mommas garage up n fuck these rich snobs on this board.

There ya go, bevin! Just grow it....fill the truck...and cruise around the neighborhood in a 3 block circular pattern selling to anyone who will buy....like SS says.

Easy as pie, bro. Just watch out for the "rich" snobs, man! :D

for certain...more than likely the jealous bastards are bitter as fuck sitting on a freezer of bunk bud and will snitch ya off in a heart beat nowadays just hoping it somehow changes the dynamic here. Sounds insane but I doubt we are too far away from people cruising the hood selling herbs outta icecream trucks jammin some classic Tosh.

If we legalize they will simply be giving it away with the purchase of an ice cream bar because when "everyone" can grow it...it will retain very little value on the open market.

BTW...the dynamic is >always< changing...snitch or no snitch. In this instance, the pheonomenon (MMJ retail model/dispensaries/etc.) is simply eating itself from the inside out. A victim of it's own greed...

fuck the open market. herb for everyone is way better than a sellers greed. id rather it have no value and be a fucking plant like it was supposed to be. let me grow in fuckin peace. itd be cool if i didnt have to worry about getting robbed. what a great life that would be.

I do have the skills and life experience to grow good smoke. Im a 30yr old man I own 2 houses in colorado springs so im pretty sure i wont be needing to clean out my dead mothers garage. And im no trying to move truckloads of smoke. Im just trying to find some people that might be interested in something like this. I have 2 friends in n.cal that run a co-op and so there is a business plan in effect already just trying to see if CO would go for it

then go for it. it almost seems like you wanted an opinion, then when you get them you deny any knowledge and say you still have the best idea.

just go for it dude. or dont.

do somethin. hahaha
