“Tampering with voting machines” could decide the election

Actor Richard Belzer warns that if Mitt Romney wins the presidential election by a small margin of victory, “America will explode,” claiming that voter suppression and “tampering with voting machines” could decide the contest.
“If Romney wins by a very slim margin in states where there is voter suppression and tampering with voting machines then America will explode,” Belzer tweeted this morning.
The actor followed up by predicting that Obama will “win by a landslide” because of his position on “women’s health issues.”
Belzer, an actor and comedian, is best known for his role as Detective Munch in the NBC police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Belzer also makes frequent appearances on popular TV shows such as The Wire and 30 Rock.
The actor, who recently caused controversy by giving a Nazi salute during a live appearance on Fox News, is currently appearing with Christopher Walken on a cooking show for the comedy website Funny or Die.
Belzer’s claim that the country will explode in the event of a closely fought and disputed election is by no means without foundation.
As we documented last month, Twitter has been flooded with messages from Obama supporters threatening to riot and cause violence if Mitt Romney wins the election.
In the aftermath of the presidential debates, Obama voters took to the social networking website to promise mayhem and unrest if Obama loses.
Threats to riot included tweets such as, “Black people gonna riot harder than Rodney King if Obama loses!”, “If Romney becomes President watch it be a riot in L.A.,” and, “Obama wins, we party. Romney wins, we riot. EIther way shits gon get fucked up.”
The federal government has been preparing for riots in the aftermath of the election for the best part of the last six months. Back in July, the Department of Homeland Security put out an urgent solicitation for hundreds of items of “riot gear,” in preparation for expected unrest at next year’s presidential inauguration.
Police departments have said they are not expecting civil unrest on election night, but given the fact that Americans will riot over a game of baseball, these assurances seem somewhat naive.
The threats to riot were accompanied by an even greater number of tweets threatening to assassinate Mitt Romney.
Numerous errors with electronic voting machines have become apparent over the last two weeks.
Early voters in Marion County who attempted to vote for Mitt Romney saw the electronic touch screen replace their choice with Barack Obama instead. Joan Stevens had to input her selection three times before it displayed correctly.
“You want to vote for who you want to vote for, and when you can’t it’s irritating,” Stevens told the Marion Star.
Voters in Guilford County, North Carolina experienced the same problem. Every time a vote for Romney was entered, the machine flipped it and counted it as a vote for Obama.

Dunno think most are too fat, lazy and dummied up to fight

then maybe everyone can get back to work and start digging ourselves out of this mess

Has anyone thought that it may be the Romney supporters that sent those tweets? I know if I wanted to make my opponents supporters look bad, thus making my opponent look bad, I would send in tweets like that. Think of it this way, fight promoters want drama between the boxers, fights at the weigh ins, constant bickering between the opponents, this is what will sell tickets and Pay-Per-Views. So what is to stop all the fear mongers from using the same tactics? I would not expect riots, however either way we are going to have roughly half of the country very upset.

Who gives a damn what some ultra liberal(or conservative for that matter) movie star says for starters? They are living in their own altered hollywood reality that NONE of us regular people will ever experience,And who says their wont be rioting no matter who wins if its very close?
For that matter maybe we need some damn rioting because nothing short of it will bring about any kind of meaningful change no matter which of the two poor ass choices we have gets elected.A little revolution every now and then is probably a good thing, its time to show all the politicians that filling their pockets instead of doing the will of the people will result in very bad things for them.

Belzer's an idiot. I love that people think so highly of our actors/comedians, what makes them and there opinion so important?

Yet.....ironically......you feel name calling negates you from sounding like an idiot. Youre becoming a real monkey on my back Sky, seems like you have to bash everything I post pertaining to politics even though "there are more important things in life than politics" as you say... Do your homework on Belzer, he's a real sick human being and feels because of his status in Hollywood he can pull off a Hitler salute and still be taken seriously. And yes, Reagan was one of the greatest Presidents this country has seen.

Yet...ironically....some (of the same) idiots out there who see no importance in the opinions of (liberal) actors/comedians believe that an actor was one of our greatest Presidents!
Havent ALL of our recent presidents been actors?I beleive its a prerequisite to being in that office nowadays,God knows the one we have now deserves an academy award.Just like everything else follow the money,if you beleive your boy is in it for yours or the peoples best interests you need to lay off the pipe, lol. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

Hey wait a minute- Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000, and still lost the Presidency.

Our votes for President DON'T COUNT, remember? Only 26 of the 50 states have any statute on the books requiring their designated Electors to vote the will of their state's people, which means that only 538 people decide who's gonna be President. NOT US. Somehow, this doesn't quite seem like the 'democracy' I was taught about in school...

Isn't ANYTHING left untainted or without corruption and graft in this country? Politics? No. Business? Are you kidding?! The environment? Nope. Technology? Drugs? Social programs? Entertainment?

We have a system that doesn't work. I wonder how long it will keep tottering forward before it falls under its own weight of divisiveness...
