Honestly this comes from a conversation with my girl that had I been told 12 years ago where the u.s. would be with mmj and mj I would be in complete disbelief. There is a lot to be happy about out there, lots to be sad about too, guess its just the way you want to look at the cup.

Wow I should never underestimate someone bringing up Israel/Palestine in any political conversation, but I am always surprised. For starters, I support Palestine and the Palestinian people, they deserve their land and their freedom from Israeli/ U.S./ and lets not forget the U.K. oppression. My problem with this paper begins with the structure. I say this because as a T.A. for English lit and having to continually correct papers for my friends/family in college I have many basic grammatical problems that I see in the paper which cause me to lose interest in the topic. When I get over these, I see a really weak argument supported by a few cherry picked facts. I say this only in the way the paper is written and not the overall message that he is trying to convey, which I think is a little too confusing. I understand the frustration in President Obama for not coming to help the Palestinians more, but he needs to bring more facts to the table. On one hand he claims that the U.S. under Obama has come to the help of countries in the Middle East in promotion of democracy, but then attempts to criticize Obama for Bush's take on Hamas, not a fair argument. I can only hope we will see some resolution with Obama and that his take with Israel will be more strong and honestly right. That said, this paper regardless of being written by a "doctor" requires much more investigational analysis and citations for me to take it too seriously. Thats just me though and my opinion is not even worth two cents any more, so take it lightly:)! Good read though, I would love to see a more thorough argument though.
Are you a person of color or a minority in this country? I ask this because perspective on racism seems to change drastically in this country depending on race and geographic location. No person, president or otherwise should ever be accused of the racism that has existed in this country since its inception. Honestly, look at the number of open white supremacy groups that popped up immediately after he was elected. That could not ever be the Presidents fault, but seeing a black man at the top of our elected office jarred up some repressed feelings for many in this country. I asked you the first question because I am a minority and grew up in an awful part of the country in regards to racism, experienced shit that I would never like to share openly on a website and was just traveling back through with my wife the other month (she is blond and blue eyed) and she was able to witness first hand some of what I grew up with as we stopped by a local sandwich shop to get a bite to eat and the lady behind the counter refused to take my order.....simply because the color of my skin. If you think a black man can change that type of racism, I am sorry but you are so very wrong on that. Trayvon Martin did look like he could be President Obama's son, and he was rightfully disappointed that the situation of a black teenager getting shot for being black in the wrong neighborhood was still happening in modern day America. Unfortunately, racism will always exist, I even after having experienced racism to the degree I have find myself at times needing to check my unwarranted feelings for others, and that is MY problem not one that the President could really ever help me fix unless of course we were super close friends and he could be with me to remind me of my short-comings.
