Hi, im looking to put my reciently popped beans into cubes, this is a first because i usually go from rooted cuts. just wondering what advice you farmers might have reguarding putting them into the small starter cubes. I have ph adjusted them to 5.9 and wondered if i should just drop them in and let them go or if you guys had a strategy that works?

Thanks a ton !!

You got the right idea, everything sounds good to me so far just drop em in. I have done this process using both rapid rooters and rock wool, personally, I prefer rapid rooters but hey to each his own. Just make sure you do not keep drenching the cubes as they tend to hold moisture for awhile and could growth in ur little ones from giving to much water to a plant that young. Other than that it should pretty much be smooth sailing. Good luck mane pheno hunting is always an exciting process.

I found it to work decent when I add a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of MaxiGro to distilled water when I water the rockwool for my seedlings, but only when needed after the initial soak in plain h2o.

When I say small amount I'm talking about .25-.50 gram/gallon. You can obviously use whatever veg fert you have, I just happen to have MaxiGro.

I don't think nutrients are required, but it never stunted my seedlings and actually seemed to help them sprout faster then in soil.

make sure you push them down to the bottom of that little hole if your using the small 1" cubes.

when i pop seed i just drop them in the rockwool cube and keep it moist with un PH'ed 150ppm well water untill they have 4 leaves, at which point i PH the water and add a little Rapid Start.

the one thing i noticed though with the rockwool cubes is that you really should puch the seed to the bottom of that little hole otherwise you get some crazy stretch right off the bat, and the seedling is never able to really get a good grounding.
