The "Tea Party" is the perfect example. The Colonist got tired of being cheated by a tea club owning King. The Colonists retaliated. Because of it, the Colonists could grow their own tea and the club owning King was forced trade fairly. It is a broad, loose interpretation. It might not be the best example, but it sure makes more sense to me than "eye for an eye".

We are debating moral issues here. What we need is a solid course of action. Maybe ratting out a club isn't the most appropriate thing to do. However, doing nothing doesn't sound like the best thing to do either. I have not encountered a non-payment situation. I am lucky. But if I did, I would tell the club owner to his face that I was going to call on him. If he didn't pay, then I would.

After working with a club for a couple years, consigning product, I was taken for 11 elbows and they disappeared.... I'm the idiot for consigning but I had the last laugh...

this game is sometimes in the catagory of take it from me like I took it from you.

Eleven freaking bows, and let me guess you did nothing? What the hell is wrong with you man at the very least you could have gone to a biker bar and found someone to go handle the matter for 50%. One or two bows, MIGHT be a "lesson learned" thing but 11 freaking ones is pure insanity to ignore. Unless you did handle it - what was the last laugh thing about did you really get $30 thousand worth of satisfaction?

Outwest - The dispensary situation is supposed to be straight-up business. In the black market the code of honor dictates you never bring the police into the game, and I agree with that. But if it is supposed to be a straight up legit business matter, going to the cops when you are stolen from is fair game. The clubs want to pretend to be legit and law-abiding, then let them deal with the law when they break it by committing theft. That's the difference - in the underground market nobody is pretending to be legit.

For the record I was never advocating non-action, I just wasn't advocating vengeance.

Going back to the tea party example, they got what they wanted, freedom from tyranny. Even if the shop owner rots in jail for life, you are still out the $800. In your tea party example, it would have felt great to have the tea party, but we'd still be ruled by England.

But yes, I agree, whether to rat on the shop owner is an issue of personal values and sense of right or wrong. This varies widely from person to person.

Well, the Tea Party conspirators didn't earn freedom from tyranny with one act. Throwing a few crates of tea overboard didn't change the King's mind. However, it rallied the Colonists to do something about a bad situation. One single act changed everything. It may be that one phone call to authorities that changes the club owner's disposition as well. If that tea had not been thrown overboard in Boston Harbor, the Colonists would be stuck dealing with that LA Club.

Those fucking LA clubs!!

Hey outwest, we just had a pseudo argument going down. We both ended up at the same place, just took different routes to get here. There are good clubs. We need a blacklist to distinguish them apart. But, we can't let the club owners write it ;) It would be nice if growers could run a credit report on the club to see if they are notorious for not paying vendors. That may solve the problem completely.

Thanks for sharing a difference of opinion in a highly constructive way. Haters take note!

I hear that loud and clear. This whole thread has made me do a bit of reflection. I've always felt this way and my life hasn't been without its share of challenges, but I lead a blessed and fortunate life. I think if most of us considered things and look at the big picture, we'd feel the same way.

Sappy idealism at its best. Capitalism can purchase idealism. Therein lies the problem. And cookies, of course.

When I wrote that I wasn't sure how it would be received. Glad to see that the overwhelming number of people felt that guys pain, and anger. For me the part that made it worse was the fact the he was desperate for the 800 dollars. I figured he was a small time grower like me. Where every dollar counts, and is just one or two crops failing from going out of "business", and losing everything...I like the idea of a list of places that are shady...they would slowly choke to death for lack of product...Sepulveda and Roscoe next to a dive strip club called "Classy Lady"(if you want to google it).
Outwest..where are these cookies?
PS sorry wasn't trying to hijack the threads main topic...so 2800-3500lb indoor(90% of the time..up to 4000.00lb once or twice).. quality, and strain dependent from what I have seen, and heard..In the SFV/North Hollywood area

Evoke?? talk bout having to google a word b4 my reply Lol.

I was offered my asking of 3500 for the last bow I brought in, as they didnt haggle I probably could have gotten a little bit more.

All was well till they told me I'd get paid next week, I was pretty stoked, told them Id be back... with the smoke. That didnt go over well. I arrived at the set time, set date with the set weight. The "Donation manager" (I shit you not) was off that day and no envelope for me.

Went to a normal cash, on the spot and VERY happy to see me spot. 15 minutes later I was in Costco buying steaks.

I got kicked out of a club once. He demanded consignment, I explained I dont front, he goes off that this is how business is done etc... I walked. On the way out of his office, patients were looking like they heard it all so I handed out nugs and told them what club they could find more. Not a happy owner.
