I was digging around in a back closet and I found some of my old "lead guitarist stomp boxes/pedals"
from when I was a pro touring musician and lead guitarist. I thought you all might want to see what all those guitar players on stage are stomping on while you watch them at your favorite club for 5 bucks or some concert you paid a hundred bucks to attend. This is the standard rig for most "lead guitarists" as well as a lot of "rhythm guitarists" too. My favorite pedal/stomp box was the red one, in the middle, on the bottom.

Saw Roy many times mostly in small clubs. Most were drinking and not really paying attention.
I was three feet away glued to his amazing guitar playing.
Really lucky to have seen him when I did.
IMO. The best ever......

Nice, Bluz! I'm a big fan of the blues myself. Never could really get my fingers to coordinate on guitar strings, but I'm full of hot air so I have a few harmonicas. Good stuff.

LMAO! And here I thought all that was needed was a tight pair of pants and big hair. I bet your shows were a hell of a lot better than those of what became Stryper, some guys I hung out with in school and helped get back and forth to gigs like Gazzarri's. Hey... is that place still around? <shrug> I don't know, but I appreciate the blues a hell of a lot more than big hair band music. Just sayin'!

That's a hell of a guitar pedal, I'm still chuckling.

My hero, Roy, I don't think he needed any pedals to get his sound out.
Love this man Rip, Roy......

Wow. Still amazed, brings tears, so sweet....
Saw Roy many times myself. The guy literally could make the guitar itself weep on stage.
Pretty sure Roy just used a rack mount compressor& gate, and the pre-amp and reverb on the amp he used and that was it.
Best regards from the Bluzboy always!

Saw him in Boston several times, once at "The Jazz WorkShop" of all places, which usually was the predominant fusion jazz club at that time in Boston.

I had a great career earning a decent living playing guitar for over 20 years and mostly Blues, But I did do some work in Rock and Country bands too. Working for Country Artists, well frankly, they are the biggest pains in the ass you could deal with besides the big hair spandex lead singers in the Rock bands. Oh, here are some more musician jokes for you:

How many "lead guitarists" does it take to change a light bulb?
201. One to change the light bulb while 200 others stand around and say"I can do that".

How do you find a replacement bass player ?
Order a pizza.

What do you call a guy who cannot read music?
A drummer.

What's the difference between a guy playing a cello and a coffin?
With the coffin, the dead guys on the inside of the wood box.
Hope you got a laugh!

Ohhhhhh HO HO HOOO!!!! I've known bassists and drummers and you've got me laughing my ASS OFF!

Get this. One of my ex-brothers-in-law is this cat. Dead guy just about describes him. D'oh! Did I just say that? :D

Oh my goodness, he looks like "Buny Brunel", without the beard, an angst out French musician I know living in LA who plays an electric stand up bass and does fusion and eclectic jazz.

Any of you living in Cali, especially any of you in LA or SF with easy access to the club"Baked Potato". Go and see "Brian Auger and The Oblivion Express" and you will get to see Brian who is the best Hammond B3 organ player in the Galaxy if not the Universe. Tell him the Colorado Bluzboy sent you to see him.
Best regards to all from the Mile High Bluzboy

Great players show up at that club to perform and you never know who is hanging in the audience that's a Hall Of Famer in one way or another. I have been to the SF Baked Potato to watch Brian play and Brian introduced me to Keith Emerson who was in the audience, and the next time I was there he introduced me to Herbie Hancock who was in the audience. I got to meet Eric Burdon from a Brian Auger introduction. Brian resides in Venice currently.

Wish I was close to there...Danny Carey plays there with some side projects...:D
Dude I was at the show were he broke a rib during during 46 &2. Seen tool a good ten times, so amazing haha. Saw him on his birthday and he did a birthday solo. Even being a guitarist I had a boner. HHahahhaa

Speaking of which (not trying to thread jack) if anyone in the denver area has a cheap acoustic they're willing to part w PM me, my Taylor got stolen out of my car a little while back, life sucks without a guitar.

He is the reason I traded my black beauty les paul and randall solid state amp for a drum set! Granted that drum set was Mapex low end, but you know nowadays I got my Sonor with Paiste cymbals just like ol DAnny!!

Yeah let's hear those Jambi rolls. Hahahahaha ha. Fuck yeah I have an electric set just for beats and stuff behind what I do... Have some friends that are amazing drummers but all out in San Diego.... Flying solo here

You would love to see "Karma Auger" play drums with his Dad Brian Auger then Baba G. Brian 's son is something to see and hear.

Oh, I like harmonica. There ain't no Blues without a harmonica wailing.

Best to you Attitude from the Bluzboy

I've seen Tool once, at... fuck, what was the club on Sunset...? The Palladium? I can't remember, but it was a LONG time ago because the other acts were Haunted Garage and White Zombie. Small venue, that's what I recall, probably back in the 90s. The band I always loved to see was Butthole Surfers.
