i've always been told what woodsman said . . . but i was wondering just last month what happens if the temp is 75° . . . . does CO2 help at all, or does the impact diminish 10%, 40% . . . . what's the story?

I found this graph, which helped . . . .

Co2

something important to note is that it is the leaf temperature that matters. i use a laser thermometer to determine where my temp is.

heres the thing when you run co2- especially high levels like 1500-, your plants sense this increase and close up their breather holes. ((they also start making less holes per leaf))

so if you run higher temps, you compensate for this and the plants are forced to take in more c02, nutes, water...

sealed room temps:
veg-83-86,
flower:81-82;
late flower: ***reduce co2 by half ***and temps at 77-79...

Chart seems useful if I'm reading it correctly. The honey hole is 27C/81-82F which is spot on with puss?

The general rule is 80/85 with CO2 and some of the new research is saying as high as 90, I run my rooms at 80/90 when running at 1500 ppm.

Col. Klink

80/90 is a pretty wide range. Are you showing good results in mid to high 80's? I've been wondering should I be closer to 84* at 1500ppm for maximum uptake. Have basic controller. Kicks on at 900ppm and shuts off at 1500ppm.

Kicked it up to 83*. 5 weeks left. If anybody thinks bad move, help an old man out. Just want max out of co2. Those friggin large tanks from welding supply easily hernia enducing. 350lbs/160kgs minimum. Probably more like 400lbs/185kgs. For the effort I don't want to waste any. Full control of temp. Peace.

If you can move one of those 75lb tanks by yourself, you are superhuman. Smooth round cylinder gives very little to grip to. Thank moms for my brother.

Shit. I hurt just thinking about lugging a beast of a tank like that around... What drastically reduced my CO² usage was to go through and wrap all my ducting between my sealed and vented hoods with plastic cling wrap- same stuff you wrap bologna with. Cheap, it seals up little pinholes like the dickens, sticks to itself. I don't know if you have such ducting, but if it gives you an idea...

What is just as important as temperature is relative humidity; VPD theory says that humidity levels need to be carefully optimized to get best use of supplemental CO². Chart below, the point is to keep your op in the green;

I think you will be very happy with the results at around 85, I use BBQ tanks 20 lb much easier to handle. Been doing CO2 for 13 years and and love the stuff. Just stop it in the last 10 days of flower, this will help with bringing back more sent and flavor to your buds.

AS Tyy pointed out above VDP is important but it also changes when using CO2, the above chart is for normal CO2 concentrations of 400+-.

Check out some of my posts and you will see what CO2 can do when used right, my yield has gone up an easy 20% over no CO2. I stop using CO2 in the summer as it's to hot to use it so my yield goes down. I do grow some big trees and the combo of CO2 and RDWC can't be beat.

Can't load pix right now.....

I have never seen the VPD chart for higher concentrations of Co2,if anyone has that info please post it up.

I'm very interested in how and why a VPD chart would be different for augmented environment vs not.

Capulator's thread about light and nutrient uptake definitely has a similar idea, I know CO² supplemented plants like to feed more.

Adding a large amount of anything to a mixture (like air) will change the kinetics of that mixture appreciably.

No air cooled hoods, all ac

BBQ tanks run out much faster and the back and forth aggravation cancels out the hernia tanks. I think I get more then 20% at 81-82.

Been growing awhile now but I just added a co2 generator. I feel pretty comfortable where I have everything set. 85* and 55 humidity with co2 set to 1000 ppm 900 on 1100 off. My plants are taller ..and a lot more full.. I've been supercropping to try and fight the stretch at 2 weeks into flower. No trellis this round.. Stakes and fishing line w/paper clip hooks :) fingers are crossed. I hope I got it dialed in right. I've read so many threads saying 80*-90* and 65-70 humidity for better co2 uptake. My ac units are UV equipped but I've had pm before and I don't want to fight that shit..

2 weeks into flower on clones I took from a mother I grew from seed of unknown strain. Popped 10 seeds got one male 9 females. Chose 2 for there traits. Mothered them side by side and then took clones from both. Put the mothers outside and watched them flower while clones veg'd. Picked the best of the 2 and now I'm 2 weeks into bloom looking awesome. First time with co2 :D
