The 1st bulb was the 860 and I held it at the bottom of the bulb touching the glass on every reading. looks like this.

This is the reading from touching the side of the bulb. Not the bottom.

Yea I seen your screen name on the thread...I like the screen on ratchets he used, but he truly burnt the hell outta the plants.. I wanna see what those bulbs can do in a more dialed setup, when plants burn like that all through flower, bud development stunts bad....not talking shit, I'm just honest.....I pull 16oz - 24oz off a single 600hps depending on strain with ease, and use 24 dollar "planet light" hps bulbs ......I have ( 2 ) 4*8 tents with (2) 600s in each and that's what I pull per side....how do you yield with those ? Was it his strain or the system not being dialed or both ? I wanna upgrade from the 6s but I just don't know if its worth it yet...

You actually might be interested in upgrading by downsizing then. DNA makes a 315 watt version of that light too, and I've heard amazing stories, like 3 grams per stories (I know that sounds impossible to believe). I want to put those in my veg room eventually though.

Not sure what the total yield was on that room? I agree though, that run wasn't as dialed as it could have been. He was growing new strains, in new nutrients, so I'm sure that played a part. The run he just finished was way healthier. That was one of the reasons he moved into a new room. The plants were getting too big, and were growing way too close each other.

Nah I could understand 3 gpw , its all about how the grower positions the plants and if they have the environment dialed and the light smacking those babies from a perfect height with walls that reflect.....I've done grows with heavy yield strains 4 plants 1---600 8oz per plant,,,that's 2lbs off a 6. Its not my average but people said "its hard to get 2lbs off a 1000" .....if your room is dead on the only limit is the strain and how far it will let you push it....

the Chem's a male!!! It's been over a year since I started searching for this plant, and I think it was WELL worth the wait, and WELL worth the effort. Can't wait to see what comes out of the first Hogsbreath cross.

In case anyone's interested, the bar head mix goes a little something like this... first!, start with a base. I used to make my own base mix with approx 60% coco 30% humus/castings/compost 10% perlite, but I now use the Organic Mechanic container mix instead. It's an awesome product, made from compost, coco, pine bark, and rice hulls. For me, the key to a good base is to avoid peat moss. Not only does it have an incredibly low pH (typically in the low 4's), but it's also anti-microbial in nature (the exact opposite of what you want to achieve with your mix)... not to mention mining peat bogs is bad for the environment.

Second! mixing in the amendments. I don't use any soil amendments that are sourced from livestock (no bone meal, blood meal, manures) to avoid certain pathogens and other "undesirables". I also try to avoid inputs that have been heavily treated with pesticides (most notably cottonseed meal), and inputs that are unsustainable. Otherwise, for me, the more variety the better.... I typically use 4.5 cups of "mix" per 1 cu' of base mix, but the ingredients, and the proportions of the ingredients, can be flexible. Here's my exact recipe though....

1/2 cup high nitrogen bat guano
1/4 cup alfalfa meal
1/4 cup fish meal
1/4 cup bone char
1/4 cup fish bone meal
1/2 cup feather meal
3/4 cup kelp meal
1/2 cup insect frass
1/4 cup crab shell meal
1/4 cup azomite
1/4 cup greensand
1/4 cup oyster shell flour
1/4 cup gypsum

Nice looking mix bro. Where do you get some of those amendments from, such as the feather meal and insect frass?

Pro set up, those plants are coming along well. :)

Thanks man.. Clockworx mentioned Amazon which is really an amazing source for all sorts of shit. The biggest problem with that is obviously shipping. Some of the amendments come in 30# or 50# bags, and sometimes the shipping can be ridiculous. .. You can also find some of the "weirder" stuff (azomite, feather meal, oyster shell flour) at farm and fleet stores. The stuff they have surprises me sometimes.

What up everyone. What better place to say what up then here on my boys thread. Looks like you're talking about me here anyway. Im loving these new DNA's and the plants are loving them and the new room as well. Jimmy an I have been balling it up with the foliar sprays. That shit makes a hell of a difference. Here is a pic of recently.

Thanks man, I'll see if any local farm stores have any. Have you found noticeable difference from using any specific ones, or you just add them all and figure they all contribute?

Nice, nice, & niiiice!

Love your setup and your style, bro! I have just started getting into teas, and am LOVING it! Those lights look amazing, and I hadn't heard of them yet! I'm trying to find the perfect light for my 3' x 4-1/2' tent. I first tried the UNO VHO T-5. Nice T-5, and a definite step up from standard HO T-5's...but still fell short of the mark. I'm currently trying an Inda-gro PAR 420 PRO w/ pontoon. I don't know if it will make the cut yet or not. I'm on my first full run with it. Next, I was looking at the Gavita if the Induction light doesn't work out, but NOW...I'm going to have to check into this one. What size would you recommend for that size tent? Think the 315 would kill in there? 3 gr. per watt...hell, I'll take two all day long and be happy as a clam! 3 grams per watt and I'd be ecstatic! The reason I don't just go with HPS is heat and power draw. I'm in a small spare apartment bedroom, and can't even exhaust outside of the room. My last set-up was 2 1000w HPS. I know I can't get close to that, but I want to max out what I have to work with...and dial it tight!

Killer grow! I'll be pulling up a chair for this one!

Best,

Max :wacky:

I put those amendments together after doing a shit load of research on building soils. I could probably simplify it a lot and get the same results, but I like the diversity... The thing I find the most remarkable is actually the foliar spray though. The sea minerals and Ful-Power fulvic are the keys.

I think the 315 would be amazing for that space. Let me know if you want to pick one up, and I guarantee I'll get you best price. Same thing for the 860w's too.

What price range are they? What is the heat output like? Thanks!
