I see all these posts of what's the best led. I see when someone trys to suggest a light some shoots it down lol. So I never really have a clear picture of what is best. I did my own research and looked at grows, reviews, and charts and these are some of the badasses ! Growblu700 , blackdog450U ,lumigrow 325

I see these as some top scale lights. Anyone wanna cchime in?

what i have learned is those great name brands charge way to much, when you can find the same exact technology for alot less, this is a fact. i know the things i looked for, each light has its own diodes, 3w to 5w led lights, and check nm for every color, and compare and find whosale company who offers atleast a 3year warranty. i found mine after two weeks of researching, and paid under 250$.im pulling just under 4oz from a 400w Mars II led and i wasnt fully dialed in last grow. so yea people still bash the technology but it has come along way, they work, they produce, cost efficiant, and i believe they are the future for your everyday home grower, not for huge commercial grows, imo.

hey there guys so this is my first post and im very excited about joining this forum. I have been growing for about eight years now and until recently lived in a very pot friendly enviroment. These days not so much. However my love and obsession with marijuna has only grown stronger but unfurantely i have to hide it.

Which brings me to LEDs my saving grace. Until recently i was a firm believer in hps now ill never use them again. For those out there who have your doubts, dont they are awesome and the technology is only getting better everyday. Its not only LED though the flourscent community is starting to make some noise too but ive only dabbled with the new technologys they are coming out with. I use the kush innovations LED and yes i know their only the Apollo 8's that you can get from China, but i dont mind paying a bit extra for good customer service. The price is also right at only 500 US per v8 which say 360w but only draw 250w.

This low wattage allows for me to be descreet when it comes to power. Now the biggest thing i noticed is overlapping light, its very important to not have them spaced too far apart, and NO light rails. The lights need to be stationary why has to deal with lumens vs par, but im sure there are other farmers out there who could explain that much better than me. (much respect for 619ster and knowledge on leds)

Another important part is the light ratio. I wouldnt recomend the white/red or white/blue for flowering. The white/blue kills it in veg though however i veg with 3 45 watt enhanced blue spectrum flourscents that you can get at petco bc its less watts and it hasnt done me wrong. (The biggest lesson ive learned in growing is if its not broken dont fix it). For flowering i definitely preffer the red/blue spectrum leds. Right now i believe im using a 5/4 ratio but im be interested in experimenting with the 7/2 ratio.

My results have been fanastic, i have had no issues acheiving my gpw and my nugs are frosty and beautiful. The only thing ive noticed is the final weeks getting the perfect flush is a bit tricky. The leafs stay green all the way through flowering and personally i like to see a little yellow in my leafs lets me know my nugs are rippening and getting their final swell on.
Its big to make sure to have regular lights in the room. The leds mess with your eyes, so in order to properly inspect plants you need to see them in a more natural light or you can miss simple deficinecies because everything looks groovy when all the leaves are purple lol, and be carefull for snowcaps, nothing pissed me off more then when i went out to my garden and noticed the top of one of my favorite girls had been bleached because she grew too close to the light.

When it comes to a large scale commerical opertation i see no reasons why one couldnt kill it with LEDs, its being done and if someone else can do it so can you! Seeing a large scale LED operation is actually what motovated me to start using them. Now im not saying switch over your warehouse to LEDs because if its not broken dont fix it. However if your looking to start a new room and you have the experience and confidence in your self as a grower i say have no fear LED's are here.

Its trippy when you first turn them on i got super giddy lol. My first reaction after growin with hps all these years was is this really going to work. But then when you plug them in you can hear the girls go fuck yea thank you. Just remember keep them at around 2 feet away in veg or you risk bleaching. You can get them closer in flowering but i like to keep mine at least around 16 inches away plus.

Yea the light is a trip, it doesnt look that bright but its really does a number on your eyes. I took down my HPS, took down a couple plants about a week early, and now the canopy is leveled out. Already noticing the leaves looking more green.
