Looks way cheesy but that little led is a nice touch

I've found they ship WAAAAAY better as unrooted cuts. No need for LED or fancy packaging. I think these little containers may be great for actually rooting single clones, though!

Reminds me of ricky from trailer park boy's dope growing trash bins. This is the mini mcflurry cloner. All jokes aside good idea.

What keeps the medium/plant from moving if and when its tipped upside down in the mail/shipping ?

A round piece of cardboard would work secure w a little tape...idk

unrooted is the cheapest way by far. And if u know how to clone u should be able to do something with a nice healty unrooted cutting.......wish I had some gg4's lol

...well, those pics of mine weren't DIYed with shipping in mind but if i were of a mind to ship i'd look to do something just like the one in the video and either then ship it in a box, regular style or i'd maybe investigate what it would cost to just buy the container, with the LED, and then i'd maybe spray paint the outside of the top so postal workers wouldn't be able to see inside although that in itself would raise red flags in bureaucratic minds.

...but DIYing a container, with similar solutions and with a little battery powered LED wouldn't be all that difficult i don't think.

...i have to admit though that i agree wholeheartedly with altitudefarmer in that it would be way better to just ship multiple cuts, this way, even with potentially high failure rates, so long as a single cut rooted you'd then have the genepool to replicate as many times as you'd like.

and to altitudefarmer, it was to you that i actually posted those pics to illustrate how easy it is to do this for cloning and seedstarts, ...in my case i only use the 'domes' for seedstarts, i find that clones root just fine in those cups filled with moist coco without the need for any 'dome' above. ...i have found that it is far more important to keep the 'root' zone warm and at the right moisture levels and that humidity or trimming of leaves is never necessary.

ill stick to unrooted clones. that way if something did happen it doesnt count as a plant.

I hear a rooted cut in a 3×3 with tape covering soil, and a party cup taped to the top, placed in a freezer bag, placed in a box works well.especially if u grab another freezer bag or 2 and fill them with air until no space is left in the box, tape box shut.u might have to adjust air in bags, but you should be able to ace ventura pet detective that fucker when u are done.no weight shifting, solid.i hear....

agreed 100% you can send unrooted cuts in greater numbers and in a much smaller package, also if its unrooted its not seen as a living plant.

slightly rooted cuts are also a decent way to send but there rooted so there much more likely to draw attention if there found.

sent many of both kinds in my clone sending time and have accepted many in both ways.

zoolander would keep unrooted cuts in a fridge for two weeks or more. not sure of the prep .... foggy.

but maybe you could mist up a few baggies & put a small piece of dry ice in a small foam container. figure out a good temp / size of ice ratio ....

Been running this for yrs, last up to 2 weeks.

yeah, what i do is to take several cuts that i gather up into a neat little bundle, say 6 0r 8 cuts, anyway, after i gather them up into a bundle i take a pre-soaked paper towel and i wrap the cut ends up neatly, then i put this bundle of cuts into a gallon sized ziplock baggie and then i stick that bag into a chiller drawer at the bottom of my fridge, ...i have successfully rooted cuts after a bit more than a month but after a couple of weeks the failure rates start to rise, for me at least.

here's a picture of some i've just taken from the fridge and i'm getting ready to put them into my Walmart cloner, then a close up so you can clearly see the bundles i'm talking about.

@Garden of Dreams those clones were just cut ,NO rooting gel..put in wet paper towel ,plastic bag and BAM ! done deal....I have just used the 2 pots taped together but put styrafoam peanuts to keep plant from moving ...who I sent to said best clone ever recieved... Thanks M @oscar169 thanks for the thread.

I try to DIY as much as possible but the cloneshippers are 100$ for 25! They work great too.
