I'm conducting my test grow using a hybrid lighting setup. I have 2 1000 watt HPS and 2 650 watt LED lights on light rails.

My medium is ff ocean forest and I feed them water and home brewed compost tea.

I supplement the room with CO2 @ the rate of approximately 1200ppm.

The cuttings where transplanted into 3 gal pots after vegging under fluorescent lights then moved into the flowering room where they received LED light only for the first 24 hrs.

The first pics are 14 days after transplanting into the 3 gal pots.

The ocean forest is hot but I only had a few plants that had some minor burning leaf tips. I flushed them a couple of times in the first week with clear ro water ph 6.7

Started my compost tea in week 2.

I will post my recipie and more details about my grow with my noah 6 LED's soon. Thanks for reading.

Room environment; Temperature 76° Humidity 52%

The room is sealed.

Pest management; Azamax, Nuke-em

The cuttings had some two spotted spider mites visible so aggressive application of Azamax and Nuke-em is being applied. After 14 days no new damage is present and visible inspection without a scope was clear of mites.

Application of nuke-em will continue until harvest. I will begin adding rosemary essential oil to my reservoir until final flushing and I planted some chives in between my plants to deture any future infestations.

I run my 2 hps lamps 12/12 & my LED's 20 on which gives the plants 4 hours of total dark. The plants seem to be responding favorably to the combination of light. The stems are thick and strong and gaining height quickly.

The lights are flipped now. HPS 12/12 LED blue spectrum 24. I've decided to use the pure blue LED's to push my yield. After the first day I could see the enhanced growth during the "night" period. I'm adding MOAB to the feeding cycle for the next 2 days then I will change the recipe of my compost tea for the remainder of the flowering cycle.

Additionally I am feeding my plants House and Garden Soil nutrient in between my compost tea feed. I add drip clean to my reservoir to assist the elimination of salts.

Hello hempmerican, I like your lighting. I have used supplemental LED with HPS in the past with great results. The problem is LED still does not have proper lifespan for the light based on cost. Even building your own they always start burning out to soon. I prefer adding UVB lighting with sodium, and metal. In my bloom tent I supplement 600 watts sodium with a 36 inch 10.0 UVB light. In Veg, they have a 24 inch 10.0 UVB with 400 watt metal halide This gives extra blue plus UV rays not common in any other lighting, and a natural occurrence outside. Also I want to say from past problems with mites. Not in our MJ but some plants at our shop were infested. Applying Azamax would kill the live mites but never the eggs. Then always coming back. Just some insight from my side.:)

No sign of mites for more than 2 weeks. I've been continuing my routine of generic nuke-em which is an equivalent product sold as "Poultry Protector" I sleuthed out myself by reading the ingredients on the nuke-em label. Pass on the info and start saving $! poultry protector concentrate is at

Feeding flowering compost tea 3x-week and H&G Soil on alternative days. Foliar compost tea 2x-week

The outside temp has been a bit high for the last week and my average room temp went up to 84° but no stressing since I'm adding CO2 and have good air circulation over my canopy.

Several plants were overgrowing the height restriction so they were tied down. FIM'ed plants are doing nicely.

Fed them a fresh batch of flowering compost tea and gave them a foliar feeding of ct today.

The canopy was crowding so I stretched my plants out and turned on an additional HPS and LED. Flowers are taking off fast! I also moved my shorter plants into the center.

Here is the week 4 update. No problems to speak of other than a leak of CO2 in my room. I failed to put teflon tape on the threads when I swapped tanks and it managed to loosen. Several hours of high ppm CO2 resulted in some dropped fan leaves in the following days. All seems well now.

The high lemonene content of the lemon kush is the pervasive odor in the room.

Week 5 is getting mighty sticky. I've been super busy with my new job so I have been slacking on my compost tea. I've seen some mites so I'm back on them aggressively with "generic Nuke-em", Fortunately no major damage or infestation.

Interesting setup, I have 3 led ( don't use always ) , 2/3 50% burnt out (350w), I really liked how the lowered height and add-on use with a HPS since more wasteful by itself.

anyways good luck and subscribed !

Poultry protector concentrate
...it's the same recipe sold for mites on your chicks at 1/4 the price.

I did some researching and found out the distributor sells it under a few trade names.

Next thing is to call an organic chemist and get a recipe so I can start making it up in 55 gallon drums. :)-

Awesome man that's great to know. this could be invaluable information for me I was under the impression that he only sold it as one name and item I will have to go do my own research now and do the same! let me know in here or a pm if you get to your chemist first and ill do the same for you as I have a friend in the industry

Day 40 update. The Black 84 is ahead of the rest in tricome production with frost all the way to the tips of the fan leaves. The Lemon skunk has outgrown everything in height and kola density and size. The largest is the width of my wrist and still has lots of time ti swell. I'm seeing signs of rootbound in a few plants but overall they still look healthy and happy.

I'm doing some routine nuke-em application to keep the mites at bay. One plant seems to be all showing damage but all the leaves are still healthy and green.
