Any Idea what region what Landrace?
I think it may be a trait of all the landrace plants from China. Im not 100% but I think it holds its own class like auto's. It's actually in a lot of genetics with Haze background. If I remember it right the first haze plant was just a collection of many different landrace plants. I am almost sure Neville and friends from Holland did all the strain hunting for Haze. I bet its online somewhere lol...

Chinensis is the type that others are refferencing here with the Thai dom girls and others that grow those petiole flowers and more. I had one that branched off the petioles and it was a child of Jacks Cleaner- she is made of many things but Haze is her most dominant side when all said and done... This plant could have been cloned from the leaf but I never bothered as it was not necessarily a keeper in my lineup even though it was a 9 out of a 10.. It was just too damn big of a beast when all said and done to maintain indoors so I let it go but I do have photos on another hard drive and I ll try to recover them asap..

This mutation as it is called does appear to be a recessive more then anything else verses it really being a mutation. Most anomalies called mutations are usually disfigured growths more then mutations. Defective development in other words but this Chinensis is far from that in many aspects. I believe it is an ancient trait and something we have little knowledge of in the long run.

Chinensis is actually a type of Hemp from what I have learned but this ancient hemp line is where the exotic asian types of cannabis most likely descended from so with this said it has spread well into other regions. The Marijuana Botany book sold a few decades back written by Robert Clarke has a Khandahar showcased with this same chinensis trait even though it was called a mutation by him as well like with most others who do not understand this ancient trait .

The ancient Chinese called Hemp Ma and this references the two sexes of the plant. Perhaps they knew this trait very well back then. Magu is the hemp maiden by the way hehe

This link will help others by scanning over the many linked articles through google pertaining to Chinensis and Cannabis

Cannabis chinensis is an invalid name.
There is an outside chance it is a subspecies, but unlikely.
The taxonomy of plants and animals seems to be in a constant state of flux.
It happens quite often, somebody writes a paper and proposes changes to genera and/or species.
It get reviewed by peers and more often than not the proposed change is not excepted.

The problem we have now is Google and amateur botanists trying to spread some random story or rumors
because they've read one of these papers. The internet makes all that possible.

Darn taxonomists are guaranteed to confuse us every year they meet,
tho things might stabilize with DNA sequencing.

The International Code of Botanical Nomenclature got a taste of their own medicine;
a few years ago their name changed to:
International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants--
Heh...

I do not really follow the general taxanonomy or take it seriously when I mention it. Even though I know the common take and views of the laymans side on this as well as the Botanist who make many false claims as well . I gladly use the terms commonly shared as its no different then the rest of the many that are incorrect and invalid. Its true this is the wild west when you get into the literature shared as again it is all speculation and nothing more.. We have no clue of this plants inception or if it even evolved here on earth lol

The plant is a whole and nothing more just the same as hemp is cannabis and reverse , alot like the human race was before races were thought of or subsets of any type for this matter. Our whole taxonomy and nomenclature evolves just the same as the plant and to follow it is amusing even though none of it is applicable .

Enjoy it for what its worth but those Thai and their hybrids do have some odd things running in their Asian lineages relating to their ancestors even if the name Chinensis is wrong for the oldest of the Asian family lines..

I actually like the fact that none of us will ever know this plants true history here on earth as we do not even know the truth behind our existence let alone the cosmos. Peace
