There have been some interesting developments in the feminisation run that put me in unfamiliar territory. I will get the pics ready and explain in the next post

Ok, first let me explain the situation so it makes sense.

I am working a day job and traveling a lot while trying to get seeds produced and my company set up so I don't really have time to do a grow. I got around this by enlisting the help of a friend who looks after the grow and show tent while I am away. Usually I get to check in on the plants once a week, hence the weekly updates. However recently I have been away for a couple of weeks at a time so I haven't had a chance to keep as close an eye on things as I would have liked to.

This led to the current situation. The plant being reversed has not done what it was supposed to and left me a little confused. I had to question my mate on every little thing he was doing to find the problem. After his interrogation, as he called it, the problem became clear. There were two mistakes made in the process.

The first mistake was that he was spraying the plant and putting it straight back under the lights while wet. this caused the droplets of colloidal silver to act like little magnifying glasses and burn the leaves. This explained why the plant was in such a poor condition.

The second mistake was that he didn't spray very well. I needed the plant to be drenched with CS, by this I mean that every leaf and bit of stem was covered in spray, but what he did was to give it a couple of sprays on the top and none to the undergrowth.

The results was that the plant has not reversed it has just stayed at the stage just before it shows sex. Instead of reversing it he just confused it!

This is where I find myself now. I have never had a plant fail to turn so now I have a plant that's older than it should be but still hasn't sexed, so what do I do?

I decided that the best thing to do for now is to persevere with the original plant and have another one ready to start spraying if the original doesn't make it.

The situation right now is that I have given a bit of hands on training to my friend so he knows how to spray properly and the original plant has been sprayed properly for the last 5 days. I have also identified another suitable candidate to reverse if I don't see signs of turning by Monday(16th). Either way I will finish this thread if it kills me!

Its lucky I have got a tent full of weapon x ready to receive pollen so I had plenty of choice when it came to another suitable father plant. As I mentioned earlier I have never been in this position before so I have no idea what effect the prolonged spraying will have on the plant so it has ended up as a learning experience for me too.

Now for some pics, these pictures are from 2 weeks ago I will do another post in a minute to show last Mondays pictures.

These babies are potential mothers. I have been putting down weapon x every couple of weeks to ensure I have backup in case anything went wrong. lucky for me I did.

these 5 range from 5 - 14 days old

Now this sorry looking plant is the one that was being reversed.

You can see on the leaf below that I also managed to get thrips in the tent just to make things harder. Not to worry though they have been eliminated now.

Here you can see there are no male or female parts, which is odd for a plant so old.

And finally a close up of the confused internode

Now for last Mondays pictures. This was when I actually got to see them for the first time in a couple of weeks.

First up let me show you the difference pot size makes. Because it was a breeding project I had been using 6litre airpots or 8litre root pouches. I consider this to be the minimum pot size to make it worthwhile growing. For one plant I decided to use a 12 litre root pouch and the difference in size speaks for itself

Here are the potential mothers again, there are 4 in this group the 5th one from last weeks pictures is now too big to fit in with the others. The one on the front left of the pictures is the one who will be reversed if the original doesn't work out.

This one may be reversed, I like the structure. Its not too stretchy

and the last of the potentials is the stretchy one that was by itself in last weeks pictures. I wont be breeding with this one but it will give me some tasty bud

Last but not least is the confused nearly reversed plant. These pictures are from the day she started to get sprayed properly so not much to see but here you go.

I cant wait for Monday to come just so I can have a look at the plants again and see if the CS has done its job or if I will start spraying the other plant.

I did get some other pics which I will put up in a moment, a bit of trich porn for you all

Now for this weeks update and pictures

The original plant is now beyond repair I think so I have started to spray a new one in order to complete this thread. I will however keep spraying the original one. I am doing this as an experiment for my own information and it will not be used even if it turns and releases pollen.

Here are some pics of the plants from this Monday
I will start with the original reversal plant. Here you can see just how bad a condition it is in.

These ones were potential mothers but now I have chosen 1 to be reversed and the others will be either grown out or donated to friends.
the one on the left at the back is the new plant being reversed

Well I have got good news for you @str8smokn i just got a call from the guy looking after things and he said there are balls all over the new plant being reversed!

I am overdue for an update on this thread I kind of got caught up in the competition thread, so I am sorting out last weeks photos now and I will update shortly. I want to get it back up to date so I can go and take new pictures of it turning male. I will be taking new pics tomorrow and i will update again on Saturday.

ok pictures sorted so let get up to date

Let me start with my big problem

BLOODY THRIPS!
You can see all the little bite marks in the leaves
DSCF1268

DSCF1274

I had to cut off a lot of the infested leaves just to make the job of spraying them easier. That's why there is a pile of leaves in the bottom corner of some pictures. Good news is that there are nowhere near as many in the tent now. I will be cutting everything down and doing a full sterilization of the tent once the new seeds are ready.

Here are some of the potential mothers that have got a bit too old so they will be grown to bud or killed to make space for new mothers. I do have 4 more younger plants in pots at about 2 weeks old and I have 4 week old plants in cups. So I have a full backup plan in place!
DSCF1257

The one in the back right is nearly done and is starting to swell up nicely, I think about a week more before I chop her.
DSCF1259

This is the one in the 12 litre pot. I had to cut off the most leaves from her but she seems to have taken it well and is growing again nicely.

DSCF1267

And finally the new one being reversed. These pics are after a week of spraying
DSCF1284

DSCF1286

As you can see no obvious signs that it is turning male yet
DSCF1288

But you can just start to see the cauliflower effect the males show when they flower
DSCF1295

I am itching to go and take new shots now. I am definitely a happy chap now! The moral of the story for me was don't give bad instructions and expect good results!

Don't worry I put myself on the naughty step for that error!
