well im on ceramic tiles in that room so i mean i could leave it, but its in the basement im worried about temps for the roots

In that case I wouldn't even cover it I'd just cut some squares of 1 in or 1 1/2 foam for under the pots.

or like someone said here i can use a pond liner and frame with 2x4s along the walls to keep it in place

Don't think pond liner is going to insulate much and will probably cost more. If your running pots get some little trays to set them in to collect runoff if you overwater a little they will just suck up the extra

How long have you been growing working 5 on 5 off? That seems impossible unless your wife knows atleast a little about feeding and keeping them alive

@juiceyjay this is my first crack at it in 7 years. she can water them and follow a feed schedule but dont ask her to mess with timers or sex the plants or diagnose issues as she dont have a clue. im leaving next week and im hoping i dont come back to a dead garden. i mean its only 6 plants right now and hopefully she can weed out the males if anymore pop up and water them when needed until i get back. which should be a week or so before theyll be ready to harvest... if theres anything left to harvest lol

Yeah i use double thick pvc plasti clear pond liner.
Truthfully man just get your space going for you. If its not what you want you can always change it. Im sure you'll figure it out, you seem like a smart dude.

For someone going out and buying 2 1k's that would be the much wiser choice. I've always heard that the difference between 6's and 1k's, as far as benefits, was negligible, that's why I went with a 600, less heat and save on electric. I've been pretty impressed by what a 6 can do.
