Well, I've decided to grow a grape strain and after many hours of research and even more reflection, I still do not know which strain I should try. It has to be from seed because I don't know anyone with a grape strain and I don't want to waste time with a 'grape' clone from a dispensary. I don't mind spending the money for something like DJ Short stock. I would prefer a sativa leaning hybrid but most grapes seem to be indica leaning and that is fine too but it must be purple.
I grew DJ Shorts Grape Krush once but had to chop it early due to some PM. I only had one plant (in my avatar) but she didn't smell like grapes yet. I smoked Game Changer recently and although sweet, it wasn't grapes. I had Grape Ape and GDP a few times and some were sweet, some just dank, but none grapes.
My research, from many years ago to present, has turned up some of BOGs genetics. I remember his Bogglegum having a Big League Chew grape smelling/flavored pheno in the mix but I'm not sure if those phenos are still in the seed packs. He seems to have created Grape Punch and then Sour Grape from that Bogglegum grape pheno but I didn't see a ton on Grape Punch other than it being 'ok' and BOG says that Sour Grape will smell like a fine red wine after a good cure, which is not what I'm looking for. I've read Lifesaver has some grape flavor too.
I've seen several grape strains from TGA but after more research, his strains seem to be majorly lacking in the potency department. I'm not looking for the strongest strain out there but I don't want something that is not potent.
Mendo Purps I've heard is grape but haven't looked for seeds and then there are all the other strains that came up in my search for grapes! Mainly: Red Lazerlite II, Grape Stomper OG, Original Berry from Kannabia Seeds, OGA Zombie Virus, Grape Romulan, Godzilla Grape, Grape Bubba, shiskaberry, Purple Nepal,razzleberry,black berry kush,Purple hogs breath, the chronic and nirvanas aurora indica, Growdocs Bubbledust.
Wow, that was a mouthful! Can anyone help me out? I have to go vape some Blue Dream now lol
