Our little county finally has an approval for commercial growing, and a 5% tax on the ballot. $11,000 in fees, to make a start. Then, $5,000 a year. It'd be the closest retail mj to ks, OK& tx. A freakin gold mine!!! IMO

biz taxes are going to education they were just cut twice as much....so to answer your question yes I think taxes are going to schools but expect a miraculous move of hand placing those funds and more to be "shifted/allocated" else where at the end of the day, more fucking crooked politics as usual....

If pot taxes are collected and then used for 'other' purposes, why does that tarnish the cannabis industry? The ones paying the taxes don't get to decide what money goes where, so why would they be held responsible?

who shall hold who accountable? The original thread question implies to me that ends may justify the means but if the ends change how the FUCK is there justification for the means? As far as utilizing colorado mj rec taxes to benefit where it came from, we are chasing are fucking tales when it comes to improving our infrastructure and education...

Local taxes should be left in the communities collected in to do with as they see fit, as opposed to sending them to Denver. the fuckers up there cant be trusted to do the right thing. Our county has a budget surplus currently.

It appears that democrats in the state senate, and chickenpooper, have discovered money indeed does grows on trees, and are spending it as such. Into the general fund it goes, then onto their pet projects.

It fucking sucks doesn't it. being right doesn't do shit for us though. And solutions are prejudice and rarely solve all our problems...at best we have to learn the loopholes they create for themselves and use them ourselves in moderation or they just make examples out of us as they get a pleasant slap on the ass...

Opposition is actually pouring out thousands to stop it. Our little county could really use the nickel tax. What they've spent to stop the measure would pay for the algebra books our hs lacks.

I'm all for anything that helps the kids, our public school systems are ancient, about 150 years old. ...so sad how capitalism tries to create a dumb labor force to exploit. Homeschooling may become more and more popular.
