Thanks for the advice guys on the next run, I'll try a few things differently. Did notice some of the stems were a bit on the weaker side. Supporting the nugs are becoming a real pain and I wish I had made some sort of netting or something.. is it too late now? lol

As for the trimming.. I think I'll wait until next run and see how these come out for now. I'll keep you posted hopefully about good things, not bad :P

Some add silica thru week 6 in flower. I'm giving it a try this run. Silica does help with stem strength, heat stress, and a few other beneficial things.

Yeah after doing some research on silica, looks like people have had good results with it. Can't wait to try it next time around.

This is what I love to here this place has many many possibilities and Reading is the key.
I see your a progressive grower and you read. Most of what I say here was read here.
If your going to keep at it and that means you will get bigger. Happens that way.
Best luck sooner or later you will loose one to mold or mildew (that could have been prevented).
When that happens you will understand why he said this.
Only one thing I can see wrong in my opinion.. you got a fuckin forest bro. Trim out that shit that doesn't get light and those plants will rage. You're wasting energy. The shit that isn't getting any light needs to get the chop[/QUOTE
I will add this a lot of what your doing has already been done. When your liked posts out number your posts I listen very closely to what they say. Some are not always right but very few of the folks who I have listened to were ever all wrong. You growing indoors and that requires you to be ahead of the curve. If your not in front of the curve you will learn about many things.

I whole heartedly agree!

So guys little update: girls are looking good.. I am a bit worried already after seeing them grow like this.. I will not have room for 6 plants at this stage.

Two of my girls are in 3gal pots and are pretty lanky stems and bud sites. My question is should I throw away the two stragglers? or just continue on and risk crowding.. see in pictures.. it's already bad. And the heat is becoming an issue.

First picture is the whole picture now and the next two are the stragglers.

Thanks!!

Looks awesome bro... dude, just take some cuttings from the stragglers and cut em down to make room.. at least that's what I'd do. Or just take cuttings and let them finish and take what little they produce. But I'd make room for sure. And take cuttings for sure lol

Ok my friend will do it today. The heat is hitting 85 during lights on.. ended up putting my hps to 75% power. It helped and the small fans on high setting now.

If it seems to you that I am nothing but bad news it's not true. Pm
Seamaiden
and ask her opinion she is killer.
It looks to me like N tox . There is a deficience I have not had or don't see.
but I see it you have some nut problems .

God.. I wish I had someone to tell this to me earlier.. I don't know how to trim these beasts.. lol.

I am scared to take it off anything at this stage.. It won't stress them out this late in flower? Just trim the bottom?

Thanks so much for the comments.. I really didn't know it's not supposed to look like a forest.. haha
A little advice try doing the bulk of your defoliate in veg. .......... Less stress during flower is what you are shooting for, however you can defoliate in early flower just don't get too crazy. Some gear takes pruning in flower well others depending on how stable the gear is may throw some nutsacks your way.

Yes sadly I had no idea how these girls were going to get this big.. ;)

Thanks for all the help fellow growers.. I will smoke a doobie for you now with all this info :p

Here's the response from Seamaiden:

I'll go easy. If this is your first grow you're doing pretty well, IMO. I would indeed toss the stragglers, I don't even see the point in taking cuttings of them. Since it appears you're growing in a tent, I'm going to assume that space is at a premium, don't waste it on non-performers.

Without going through the whole thread, I'm simply going to say what I'm observing in the last couple of pix. Mostly I see slight +N curl, but also I see slight pH twist. Try ranging pH (appropriate for your media, EG; soil pH ranges should be 6.2-6.8, coco coir should be 5.8-6.2, hydro should be in the 5s). Often improper pH is what can be at the root of observed deficiencies or toxicities as well.

I also think I see some SLIGHT -Mg on some girls. Super easy to diagnose. Take 1tsp Epsom salt, dissolve that in a gallon of water. Add something to break the surface tension (non-antimicrobial soaps work great here). At lights on, apply this as a foliar spray, trying to make sure to hit the undersides of the leaves. If the lowers that appear slightly yellowed and haloed green back up, you're short on Mg.

So I just watered them last night. I did notice something that only now months in I am starting to notice. After mixing ph down to water.. if the water is still moving around after stirring.. This can cause a ph spike on the pen and you need to wait a minute for the ph to settle? Is that correct or am I losing my mind here? I am have been ph'ing my water pretty well trying to keep it at 6.5-6.8 range.

I have some Espon salt and I will try it today with tiny bit some dish washer soap to break it up and spray today under leaves today when lights come on. I will cull the two girls today.. was about to do last night but didn't have the heart..

Thanks a lot for this info Seamaiden!! :)

So the two girls were not going to make it due to weak main stem snapping. The second just wasn't looking well, so to save space just harvested the two. Not bad so far ;).. other 4 girls are doing pretty well.

Here's a few pictures.. just starting week 7 of flower!

A few from the early harvest at week 6 hopefully won't be too bad of a smoke.

And a few pictures of the girls. Can hardly wait..

I'm going to go ahead and save you a whole lot of time trying to figure the drying part out. You need to have them hanging in a room that has solid air flow, a rh of 30-62% and Temps around 67-82. More on the 75 degree range. I have a 4x4 tent just for this. Go ahead and leave all of the leafs on it. Just cut and hang the whole plant. You want the drying to take 7+ days for best smell and moisture levels. You are looking for the leaf stem to break off easy or to snap. In your dry space run your fan at high pointed indirect of the plants, 4 days in drop to medium. 6 days in go low. Trimming is best done dry. Lots of trial and error my friend. Happy 421

Oh and the day you think your plants are ready pull them out and put them in the dark for 3 days at 30% rh. Works great for a finisher

Cool I will try that, does it help the thc content go up in the last days days in the dark? Or promote more growth?

It helps increase production at the end. The dark releases hormones the light doesn't. The low humidity causes the plant to pull from the roots and an increase in resign to cope with the stress

Ok I think will start need weeks with that.. thanks a lot for the info and tips.
