So the story is, about an year ago I got some cuttings from a buddy of mine and he has taught me how to take care of these girls. I'm taking his routine but what has occurred in the past couple of months is that my girls start to grow tiny but thick leaves (lots of them) on the buds at the top, as you can see from the pics. The buds also look very weird, they stopped being as sticky as they used to be.

Here I want to clarify that I have been using the same nutes and lights. Nothing changed but my girls are looking weird right now. I'm seeking help from all of you experienced growers. Can you guys see what's wrong with my girls?

I don't think anything is wrong.. they are just raging. My guess, super vigorous. I'd be willing to guess when you harvest, you'll have some greasy ass fat buds. I don't think it's a problem at all... and even with clones, you can still have other traits shine through randomly that the mom had in her. How many runs have you done of this particular cut?

hey man thanks for taking the time to look at my girls, I had about 2-3 runs already. The problem is that well after 2-3 runs it's starting to look very different than the first couple of runs, and it looks like everytime these leaves start to grow, my buds would not grow anymore, and they come out during the last 2-3 weeks, say the 5th -6th week. Every single time this happens, not sure why.

Maybe lights too close and or too hot?
Hey man thanks for your reply, I was wondering maybe it would have something to do with the temperature but eeeeeh my friend who also grows girls from the same mother just looks different from me and from his experience he doesn't know what's wrong with my girls. Man

I'm seeing something that looks like some raised spots on the first few pics. Turn those leaves over and take a close look you might have something other than trich's going on. That would also explain the smaller buds. You're going to need something you can get a steady look at those leaf's backsides.

Yes. That is the other possibility. I have seen mites do this, when present in great numbers.

Bugs will affect the bud quality? Wow I'm going to buy a magnifier to look at them. But how can the tiny massive number of leaves on the bud be explained? Do you guys have any idea?

Mites literally suck the life right out of it. Mited bud will be less greasy less shoogy and well, be covered in bugs and bug shit.... and eggs...... So yea kiss any quality good bye

thousands of straws attached to the plant vascular system. Think of it that way. And perhaps they have a symbiotic organism with them? Mites are pretty large and have their own parasites.

I actually had experience with mites on my girls but I thought they were tiny spiders, they are usually on the bud site itself, not very many on leaves, I probably just can't see them on leaves but yeah sometimes they form like spider nets on the bud so I thought it was spiders and since they came out on the last 2-3 weeks I just left them alone and did not care.

Webbing means 'Established Colony' of spider mites.
There are no other spiders that will prefer and home on cannabis. Too many other places more suitable.

So ... you cut and hang that weed and wait some time and you will see the mites abandon the plant as vascular pressure has vanished. Look to the tops of where they hang. You will see a convention and maybe even new webbing. Lots of mites out for a walk looking for their future and laying eggs on the way.

The next grow, it will be like the sand people (Tusken Raiders). They will return in greater numbers.

I would add here, I've seen indicas shrug sort of like this but sativas get ravaged and totally horked by the same mites. The plant response seems totally strain dependent.

I came here for something else but I learned something very good as well from you, thanks man.

Do you think my bud looks weird though? I am not even sure what strain this is but it just looks so weird.

Strangely compact and well the sort of 'shrugging' I've seen indicas do. Something ain't, quite right. I think its the difference in canopy with sativas that make them yummy. Indica is dense and light opaque - its damn dark under those leaves. Sativa seems more translucent and the mites find that optimal.

It's really easy. Ya take a sample and put it on copier paper. It will not take long for the mites to abandon the loss of vascular pressure and they are visible, given proper lighting. They get it and hit the road.

Edit: I would add: I'm sorry man, if that is what you find.

What would you recommend me to do if mites are the real problem here?
