are you sure it was from a light leak? the reason i even question this is because my plants are not in a light proof environment and have not tried to flower.
The difference is that mine do get a few hours of uninterrupted dark and then the sun comes up and the light interupts the dark period. If they get constant light it doesn't seem to bother them.
