Hi all,

I've been reading the www all day and I'm still not sure which way to go so I'd thought I'd ask your good selves.

I have 2 GT205 NFT trays, both in veg, 2 plants in each. Issues arose and the short story is plants were neglected for a few weeks. When I got back to them, there were fungus gnats everywhere, hundreds of them. I had a few gnats flying around previously but had been treating with H2O2 which had kept the population in check. One res smelled quite bad, yes, I had root rot too, in both trays.

I was not happy as you can imagine, I didn't even measure, I just poured H2O2 into 2L of water, then soaked the root zone in it. There was a shitload of fizzing going on !!! I added another 5L of water after 10 mins then let it run through for 48 hours.

So I got the gnat numbers back down but still can't get rid totally. Both res' have been cleaned and are smell free. I'd say about 30% of the roots are brown, but there is no slime or bad smell. I am getting new white root growth and it is only the tops of the roots that are brown, the submerged roots look healthy. All of the roots that have grown into the res are healthy.

Growth obviously has really slowed, and I've had to back off the lights and I've got the pumps on a trickle.

I FINALLY got some Moquito Dunks which contain BTI and I stopped the H2O2 and put the dunks in. It's only been 5 days but they appear to be working.

I've H2O2 bombed both trays again and left them flushing with just H2O2 and water to get rid of any new eggs as I still have a few fliers.

What I'm wondering is the best way to progress. I want to use the mosquito dunks because they seem to be working against the gnats, but I want to keep using H2O2 to keep the rot in check. (I'm assuming H2O2 will kill the BTI bacteria in the mossi dunks).

Res temps are around 18-20C, if they rise past 20 I use frozen water bottles.
I have added fish tank bubble wall air stone in each res.
I've backed off the lights.
I've reduced the flow rate.

I have Canna Rhizo, Cannazym, Mosquito Dunks and some Guard 'n' Aid Rot Stop.

Will this be enough to keep things in check? Or should I just keep running H2O2?
