Starting to pick equipment and planning out a shipping container grow.
Start out with 1 of each container and then later on add more 20' containers, I believe 1 of each 10' should support a good amount of 20' containers. when adding more 20' containers stagger the harvests for a more frequent harvest. The end goal would be enough 20' containers to harvest every week, if possible.

20' containers:
1 for clones/mothers
1 for veg
1 for flower

10' containers
1 for trimming
1 for drying
1 for curing/storing

everything is going to be sanitary and ran like a lab. so masks/gloves/suits anytime when handling plants/flower or inside a container. the goal is to run as close to a perfect environment as possible. also I should probably give the disclaimer I get ocd about anything I design/build so it may be way overkill but that's how I like things. Im a fairly capable at designing/building things and I feel that I have done a lot of research and have a good understanding of how everything needs to work. so I think I can pull this off successfully no problem but I could be wrong it could be a sh!t idea and i could be a full on dumbass idk but ill find out. its still in the planning phase, and ill be posting all of the progress on here as I decide on equipment and work on the design. so far I have most of the equipment picked out but its all just preliminary and im open to changing some of it up, everything i picked out was just to get an idea of what it would take/cost. been working on the model as well so ill post pictures of that, ill list out some of the equipment specs im just not 100% on every little thing yet.
The first thing that jumps out at me is the ratios of mother and clone space to veg space to flower space is very disproportionate. U can probably get aqay w 1 20fter for moms, clones and veg for 2 flower ones...

Why not just build a rm inside the warehouse?

-containers are easier to make sealed and more sealed at that
-easy to move if need to move to a new warehouse
-containers are the perfect size space i want for each environment, I like many small ones all sealed from eachother incase of any contamination
-if I have my cooling fans on the side and not the top, I can stack the containers
-security
-I'm weird

This is just the container setup I want to start out with, I figured later i will be adding more of whichever ones can be supported. Ie: another flower container can be supplied by the ones i already had. Those proportions wont stay, in the end i think there will be 1 mother/clone container per 2 veg containers and 2 flower containers per 1 Veg container. Just gonna feel it out

Maybe for most people, but I obsess over things like that so for me its more like its ocd forcing me to do it and I dont have the will power to say no lol. Who knows maybe I'll hate it but in the past ive usually had no problems with things such as this, because like i said my obsession with doing things as perfect as I can keeps me from getting tired of doing it

Wud knowing that its completely unnecessary keep u from doing it?

Unnecessary to keep pests from getting to your plants via your clothes, idk about that. To me its very necessary I want there to be as close to 0 chance of contamination as possible. If I didnt do it and I got spider mites i would wonder if a mite came in on my clothes, therefore I should just wear a suit and not worry about it. These are the things that keep me up at night, I know, I got issues, but it is what it is.

The containers will be inside an air conditioned warehouse. Everyone that keeps saying I will need ac, the chiller is my ac for the grow environment, i will add as many radiators as necessary to keep temps down. From research it seem chillers are more efficient than conventional ac. the lights will be ran at night and the intake for cooling them will come from outside and be filtered so that will help with temps. Its a sealed environment with co2 ~1500ppm so im looking for temps in the low 80's. I dont see why a sealed container inside an air conditioned building with get any hotter than a sealed room, please correct me if I'm wrong though. Also to say alittle late to the game is funny, I bet guys that were growing for 20+ years before you started thought you were late to the game. I dont understand what you're getting at there.
Inside a building, then no worries bro, worry is when sitting outside in the sun, all that metal acts as a heat sink , hence the comments

Thank you, I was getting worried thinking maybe I had missed something about heat

I’d kinda like to hear about that! You lived in a shipping container underground, overseas? Can I ask why? Just curious and sounds interesting.....
went in first live in tent,60 days later you can get a sea hut ,after a year you get a container,i preferd the tent myself, thousands of containers above ground,i have thought about 1 underground though hhaha, dont know what they go for state side ,i would go under ground just from fires, ive seen a hundred if not thousands burned to a crisp

in the second pic you can see the reflective curtain that will be around the room in a U shape as pictured. the walls will all be covered in reflective material as well. the idea is that 1 it will make great use of the light, and 2 it will direct air flow. so air gets sucked into the dehumidifier intake filter at rear of container (yellowish area on the box on the ceiling) then ducted overhead out each side of dehumidifier to the other end of container inside curtained area on both sides. at the end of that ducting will be radiators to cool the air, directing it downward. then half way back down the curtained off area there is a second radiator and fan blowing air towards the rear of the container where I can be sucked into dehumidifier again (or exhaust scrubber when that is on) lights are cooled with outside air. there will also be oscillating fans mounted along the walls for airflow on the plants and mixing the air. so for the flower container the plan is run the lights at night from 8pm to 8am. 8am the lights will shutoff, co2 system will shutoff, the fans cooling the lights will stay on for maybe 5-10 minutes to bring the lights to a cool temp quickly (those fans use outside air), once those shut off the intake and exhaust fans will kick on for 5-10 minutes as well to replace the air inside the container with air from inside the air conditioned building the container is in. 8pm fans cooling the lights turn on 1 minute before lights turn on so they are at full speed when lights turn on, lights turn on, c02 system turns on and bring container to 1500ppm. dehumidifier with be set at a constant humidity day and night, temps will be controlled via the chiller radiators and fans day and night. to get an idea if I will need any additional radiators to cool the container I will power up the lights with their cooling fans (no plants in container) and see what the temp gets to in the container. then I will turn on the chiller and see if it can get it to my desired temp and if so how quickly it can do so and if it can keep it there stable. that will all be worked out before plants go in. exhaust/scrubber exits through the rear of the container, intake is at the front and is split into 2 ducts, one for each side.

When I first built mine all my buddies w their big shops scoffed at my idea....
After the first harvest they all wanted me to build them one..... sure, 50k not a dime less. No hotter than a steel clad building, of course you must insulate it just like any other climate controlled space. I framed mine in w 2x4s 24” OC rockwool r14 batts in walls r22 ceiling and sheeted w osb and coated w about 10mil of elastomeric

NICE that looks good, how many watts?
also, how's the heat with those reflectors/ballasts?
se or de lamps? just trying to get a feel for what's working for you to gauge if mine is planned well

does seem like a big first setup:cry: but hit me up if you get it goin ill be keen for looksy:smoking:
