Since I'm relatively new to the site, and my outdoor is almost done, I didn't want to start a diary at the end. That seemed dumb, so I'll catch you up.

I started seventy seeds indoor last winter for pre-sexing. I start them in 12/12, and move them to the veg chamber to revert as soon as they show sex. I keep any interesting males and all healthy females. The strains were, B52, sweet purple, kc39, guerilla's gusto, island bud, haley comet, AMS, kaya, and white widow. I also started twenty greenhouse fems (big bang, trainwreck), but they popped and died. Since I had seventy to start, and only these two and the island bud had problems, I would have to assume that it was the seeds. The island bud gave me a bunch of hermies and duds, so I guess they were old. Like really old.

Whatever the case, I put out over thirty, and there's only 19 left. This years lesson is: DO NOT put your plants outside directly from 24/0. They will go directly into flower, then come out again when they realize the light schedule, and then stop growing for two months. I think they call it shock :headbang AND, some of them will die.

Also, reeds are not the only thing to look for when wondering about flooding. I found a new patch this year that looked yummy, but in the end it was a wash. Litreally. I saw that the road drained off into this area, and thought that it would help me with watering. But, with all the rain this year, it only succeeded in drowning most of them. So out of the ten my buddy gave me, only three remain. One looks like half of the plant is drowning, and the others are stunted. I also put my one WW female there, and it looks like shit.

The spot that these pics were from I call the "pit of rot", because last year (3rd growing there) I lost most of the crop here to rot. That's why I bought the AMS, and the Kaya. Of course green house sucks, and the AMS has already lost a branch to rot. So much for Anti-mold Strain. The kaya, however, has rewarded me with a trifoliate. I don't know if you can see the pic names, but the trifoliate is labeled trikaya. The AMS2 is the one that rotted out already. And, you can definitely see the growth difference between the tri and the regualr kaya. The small plant pic from above is actually two plants, both of the shocked variety. Luckily, both of them are coming back enough to fill out the cage. The rest are random bud shots from all of these plants. Most of the trichs were clear going on cloudy, but I saw a few amber in there.

Pics in order: ams1, ams2, trikaya, kaya, TwoInOne, and then a bunch of bud porn.

And, pic 0063 shows a problem on the regular kaya. I'm in the process of identifying the problem, but after a good look, I didn't see any bugs. Anyone know if that's a deficiency of some kind?

cool. looking good. nice and frosty for outdoors.

And to think that the closest one was at least a week out. My weight will be way below what I expected, but the quality looks up there.

are outdoor plants less frosty overall than indoors? what accounts for this?

imo
indoor is protected against the forces of nature or any other distrubance soo trich production is destined to genetics n skills of grower

outdoor yess wind rain animals can knock off trichs
but there is no equivalent light source to the sun n yess the plants protects itself from uv rays makin more thc n other stress factors but the production of trich will be stronger outdoors in a good environment wit minimal stress

cannabis grown from the sweet spots of the globe cant be beat wish i was around in the 70's

UV bombardment

Hey Mist what strain was the pic of the "leave" with red spots?

Indoor vs Outdoor Indoor trics are smaller size but more densely covered on plant, Outdoor trics are much larger but more sparsely covered on plant
Has to do with UV intensity

Hey Mist what strain was the pic of the "leave" with red spots?

That is a kaya, and it was on more than one leaf. It just wasn't as pronounced on the other leaves.

On a sad note, my homey's crop he kept calling 'the land of the giants', has fallen to the rippers. All kcbrains, and serious seeds there. Thirty 8+ footers, gone. We sat around last night and drank a bottle to their memory. Of course I regret that now at 8am.

Really close...

I was checking up on my girls this weekend, and snapped a few pics. The AMS's are bullshit. Both developed rot, and even though number 1 won't be done, I'll have to take both of them because of the rot coming on in the main cola. The kaya's are doing pretty good, the trifoliate is towering over the other one, but it was windy and I couldn't get a pic. I did get a pic of the small kaya, and the ams that is almost finished. And, some random bud shots.

My pride and joy...

This is pics of the kali mist. I was sort of disappointed that I didn't get the same pheno I have gotten the last couple of years, it doesn't have the signature kali smell, but the growth is identical so I'll chill and wait to see what it's like. It looks like this will be the one to bear any serious fruit.

A few more pics I finally got my phone to cough up. I don't know which plant the close ups are, but the plant is the two stunted ones in the same cage.

Started to harvest today. I took down the second ams plant, and the main top off of the other ams because it was starting to rot. I also took two stunted ones I never posted pics of, but I figure I'll wait till they're all done and post bud pics instead. Why waste space for joke plants?

The first pic is the one that looked done, looks like it'll be an ounce. The second pic is the main top off of the other, depending on how close it was it might be an ounce also.

I went out today to harvest a little. I wanted to go last weekend but it started raining and didn't stop until a couple days ago. After a quick dry out, down they came. I took three stunted ones, the two kaya's, and the bottom of the other ams. I did lose another to thieves, they got a thai x super skunk. Probably a month early.

Anyway, there's a pic of the one kaya, and a pic of the two stunted ones in the same cage, then a close up of a bud from the same two.
