Mini me clone idea

Hey thc , yea thats why i started the mini me clone thread. This friend of mine , because of lack of space and his huge ambition , he had things going in every freaking direction

I was like a kid in the candy shop , like , whats this ? Whats that ? And he was going on and on , oh thats my bx male over there , these are my f2 over here ,

I could hardley keep up with everything he had going , then on the floor he filled rapid rooter trays , not the rapid rooters , just promix , he had them filled with round a hundred cuts that were so small that they looked like a single leaf....

I told him he was crazy , since i have more experience than him , i said , this aint gonna work forget about it , let me educatue you.....

He just rolled his eyes and said ok.... you know everything , like we all do . Then he said dont worry about it im doing these they will be ready in a month or two.

When i walked away , i realized he was probably right , even though at the time i couldent see the point...

Later , i decided to challenge myself , i took the lowest shoot , light starving and weak off a plant that had actually been just a clone itself 3 weeks earlier...

You can see that one , the smallest in some early pages....
Its rooting now , i think its been a month or more , gotta check, i circled it With a red pen my photo gallery , its the one that has like 1/4 inch stem and just one leaf...its growing now but for sure its a 2 month clone forecast...

When i told my buddy he said , yea , i do that all the time , i just did a leaf , i think hes full of shit ? But i dont know? Can you root a leaf ??

I bet if you cut the leaf with just a scrape of stem connected , it will work

Hey guys whew , glad this thread continues to have a fun good vibe unlike a lot of other "unique grow styles " threads that have degraded into arguments...

Its cool here just to see what everyone else is doing without judgement .....👍

I mean theoretically yes you can get a clone from a leaf, but the only way i know how to do it is through tissue culture

Yea i have taken clones with just 1 singular node, just to prove my buddy wrong! Lol

But it does take forever!

Cloning is fun! I like 'stealing' all sorts of random plants, or trees hanging into my yard too. Love cloning fruit trees cause they flower/fruit the first year, and you get little bonsai guys with big ol' plums or apples on em.
So you guys air layer clones too then? That is my go-to outside. Gets rid of extra branches on big moms too, and makes plants big enough to get to flower fast.

and haha ya I have to laugh at all the names too, cause all these techniques are just old ways used for centuries for food crops and renamed in the canna biz. Everyone wants to have their name on it. Real strict 'mainlining' (specifically 8 mains at nodes 3-7) is the only one I see as actually canna specific. Tried that outside and it did hammer compared to the one just topped many times. Easy trim too.

Shout-out to the monstercrop(clone version) though, if you take advantage, you can get your 'mainline' done a lot faster than from seed.

Good grief, I'm glad I wasn't only one confused about these names, I kept reading "new" techniques & thinking that it sounds just like what we were doing 10 years ago lol.
Nobody on this thread seems to have giant chips on their shoulders either lol

So far...

But I have to ask. Should we defoliate and flush tiny clones? And is led or t-5 or mh better. I only want to give my tiny clone the best!
