Taking too long shouldent be a big concern , as long as they do actually root
A long time to me is around 15 to 18 days , so if its around that time , i wouldent worry much

Make sure not to leave the dome on without airing , venting every few days then constantly for next week to freshen air etc ...very important
its day 28 almost though

Make sure water is ph'd correctly w/ minimal nutes, e.g. half of week 1 veg maybe 200ppm or so. PH will climb over time. I use aero cloner and keep pH between 5-6.

I built a cloner in a tote. Uses an aquarium pump with small sprayers.
The cuttings go in neoprene collars.
I cut the leaf tips a few days before I take the cutting. Cut, immediately dip and place in a cup of water...faster is better so you don't get air in the stem.
Transfer to the collars and in they go.

The pump/ sprayers are on a timer, 15 on, 30 off...they spray the ends of the cuttings from underneath.
I've switched lights...using a cheap low watt blurple at the moment...3' up on 18/6 schedule.
I pH my tap water to 6.0. it comes out at 113-115 ppm.
No domes, no misting. I'm in the desert, my RH sits at about 20% every day.
I get roots in 7-10 days on average...sometimes a bit quicker but not usually. I check pH daily..
95% success rate.

Hey dabberguy , im going to give you a step by step tomorrow , and you can tell me if there is something useful , or if youve tried what i say and still have failure.....
It shouldent be that tough , so we can try and figure it out.....

First question is , what is that funky black stuff on the stems in the left side pics .....
Second question , where did you get the idea to punch a different hole in your plugs ?
3 rd question , how old are the clones in the very first picture?

Did you have a dome on that entire time ?

Jiffy 7s soak em, squeeze them out. I don't spray or use anything but tap water and a dip in stim root. I just use scissors cut at nodes. Once in pucks i throw in clone tray with high dome, fluorescent light about a foot away. 99 percent success rate for 20 years.

Jiffy cubes squeezed out so not soaked, cut stem up middle to 1st or 2nd node, dip in clonex gel & stick in jiffy pellet. I dont use dome but I mist couple times a day until they start to look perky again, they sit about 24" under 1000w led on floor of veg tent. I dont use heat mat & my humidity is only about 40% in tent. I also trim my clones to top couple nodes & them trim off 1/2 of each remaining leaf. They look bad for while & eat some of their leaves but I have +90% success ratio even on 1" clones. I use harsh methods but they work. Remember to clean blades & hands with rubbing alcohol before any cutting

Think the black stuff you are talking about is the clonex gel stained on the stem. The holes were already punched in the oasis slabs and clones I took wouldn’t fit in the pre-made holes. Clones were taken between the 6-8 of February. I usually take domes off for a hour a day or so. I have a ez cloner but for space reasons I’m not using it don’t really have a problem using that unless I just forget to plant something and it gets overgrown

Hey dabber , did you "strip" the skin off the clones in the pic withh the clonex on them ? On the left side ?

I’m gonna do a few more trays today to see if they pop faster now, a lot seemed to pop after I put the heat mats under them

Cool , one idea , next time just do a slight "scrape" on the stem , i just scratch 1/2 side and all below the plug line . Also i use a lot less clonex , i make sure its all below in the plug , if you get some on the leafs it kills them quickly , and a lot of it on a raw stem may have a really negative effect in my opinion....
Just some thoughts ....

Also the hole you popped is a really good idea, i only asked why you did it because i see very few people doing it .....thats a good move in my opinion , also if you can get some peat rapid rooters , i would give them a shot ....
