I just got back from the store, waited in line for like 30 minutes.
So this is what it’s like to be a 9-5er? I don’t wait in lines for anything. I can’t wait till people get done maxing out their credit cards then all hell is going to break loose.

I suggest pulling out some cash..just in case the banks have to close for a while Then you wil see REAL panic. Like the supplies.....I did all of that that a few weeks ago.

I just paid for my groceries and a amazon card with a $1000 in 20’s. 😁 I got a lot of looks when I looked back at the line lol.
I have not used a bank in ten years. I owed $2500 in taxes and when I deposited money for my bills they just snatched it.

Shit i dont know if your by a major city but im just 10min south of Detroit and I can definitely say its BAD out here!

People thinking its a Hoax are getting it. People buying up everything left and right! People robbing stores and people for HAND SANITIZER! Shits crazy! Times like this make me wish i still lived in the woods!

I'm in the capital city, friend. I half expect to be sent on a mandatory vacation from work soon. They were asking if I was willing to travel if work arranged for the corporate jet. I told them I would, but I think the decision to travel will be made by our governor and not work. I'm not anticipating it actually happening for at least 3 weeks or longer.

However, until then, we're expected to go about business as if nothing is happening.

I had the pleasure and ability to swing by my 67year old fathers house And drop some supplies off for him. He was told by his doctor to remain inside because of his health condition. I have been stocking up for years in case of a natural disaster but have yet to have one. I’m thankful today that I was able to help out family in this time of need and chaos. Anywho, carry on and be safe. That’s all we can really do at this point!

At least my boss has been cool about all of this. The work we do is highly technical and takes not only highly skilled people, it requires people who have experience building, running, and repairing this machinery. This machine was a prototype less than a year ago. There's only a handful of people trained to do what we do. Since millions of $$ in contracts are at stake, I feel safe if this leads to massive lay-offs. I have my family in pretty good position to get through this with a minimal of issues.

Unfortunately, I'm probably in the minority. One of my co-workers is pretty upset. His finances are upside down and his job is not nearly as secure. It's people like that ... the elderly ... the people whose immune systems are suppressed. Those are the people who will struggle to survive through out this.

Difficult times for many ...

Well I just got a Call form City hall about it............................................ so there calling everyone around me.........

I'm ready to hunker down and ride it out. All I need is the word from work and the only people who will see me in person is my immediate family. I don't like the circumstances, but I am ready for a vacation.

@Buzzer777 As for flying anytime soon, I really don't expect it. I was asked this morning. By this afternoon, our governor tightened the screw one more notch. All restaurants and bars were to shut down as of 3pm today. Only food service allowed is drive-thru and delivery ... and this was before Trump was saying limit groups to no more than 10 people. Tomorrow, the screw will be tightened again. Soon the only thing they can do is tell us to hunker down in place. By week's end at the latest is my expectation.

You have a smart and proactive governor! Kudos!!!

One of my biggest concerns is that "they" really don't have a clue about what makes this bug tick....It's like throwing shit against the wall to see what sounds good today! It seems that the stories are changing from day to day..ie" stay 3 ft away yada yada..now they say 6 ft or more!
First all will be ok by mid April..now MAYBE by the end of August.

I still put my trust and faith in Dr. Fauci rather then the rest of the head bobbers in Washington
That man has a set of balls to say what he says contradicting the POTUS, with facts as he knows them and not not some off the wall wishful thinking.

I have to say that while I'm not satisfied with some of the things our governor has tried to do unrelated to the pandemic, I am very satisfied with her proactive responses to this issue. I think she has our best interests in mind right now .... I'll follow her lead through this.

I think the best flu authority is likely Li Wenliang, the 34 year-old doctor in Wuhan that first tried to warn of its contagiousness and later died of it.

He recommends wearing what medical professionals call "droplet protection" - mask, eye cover, gloves around everyone. He caught it from a patient that wasn't showing any symptoms at the time.

The best thing we can do is look at how Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan have suppressed the numbers despite massive population density. Essentially everyone has been wearing masks, not touching things like handrails and elevator buttons, washing and sanitizing their hands, and HK still has under 100 cases without much spreading. They already knew what to do because SARS (related to flu, btw) came through and killed a bunch of people.

HK is so dense that most farts are smelled by 100 people. It's really actually amazing how they've controlled it.

I've seen far too many people being arrogant, like bravado is going to keep their elderly loved ones from dying. Makes me sad, but the ego always wants to run from death.
