Hi, happy new year everyone

I am in week 2 of flowering, like day 10. Wonder when will be the soonest day I can trim, I normally wouldn’t touch them till day 15-20. But this time they are getting too bushy.

She is healthy, I am just worry too many branches may result in small buds
Hard to say with no pics. I would say you can start removing when you like but I would do it in small daily or every other day doses.

I cant say whether it needs it or not but if it does then thats how I would go about it at this point.

Looks like still room for good airflow and thats the key. At this point going forward if you pluck leaves take the oldest and largest leaves as they become less efficient at photosynthesis. There are some other techniques but your already in flower the plants look good.

There is no real 1 way to do it but always take the oldest, largest leaves.

Ok, thanks, air flow is still good in there, I got lots of fans (wall and floor). Just worry about the buds end up small in the future.

Can remove the lowest offshoots if they are tiny and not going to produce. I can't say for certain it will increase yields but it will eliminate most of the popcorn stuff.

They in the early bloom, if I prune them, will they be shock?

@Aqua Man can correct me but I think it's always a good idea to cut off all of the fan leaves not directly connected to a bud, like the ones connected to a new stem.

Depends on the plants and grow. Like I say no 1 way is right. We need enough photosynthesis to make enough energy for the plant and that amount is highly debated. Grow method, photosynthetic rates, DLI and many environmental factors at play there and thats why its still debated and I dont see us having a definitive answer anytime soom

Only if you take to much or they are not healthy. A few leaves here and there are fine. If they are getting light then I would keep em... even if they are shaded they will get some light from mostly from the green spectrum that will penetrate through the canopy. I look for the oldest largest leaves, maybe drooping a bit, some discoloration as the plants t saps some of the nutrients from them, blocking airflow etc.

The plants will start to naturally shed the older largest leaves after about a month and a half. The newer leaves will be much more efficient. I just look for signs of that and pick em off as I go a few here and there and the plant won't skip a beat.

If they are really healthy like yours you can do even more and they might be pissy for an hour or so.

But I think your looking pretty good there. If ya just pluck the older large ones here and there as they show signs of deterioration I feel you will be good.

Next run maybe try removing the off shoots up to the tips or leaving 2-3 on each branch before flip. It will all but eliminate popcorn and I didn't find and significant reduction in yield but I cant say it will increase yields either.

When i deleaf my plants i ussally wait untill day 21 and ill remove anything under 1.5-2 feet from the top of the plants and ill take off any large leafs with red streams on them to let light get lower on the plant but i found if i left 2 bigger fan leafs at the top the seem to feed alot nicer and then about a week befor i start to flush i lower my nutes abit and take the rest of the fan leafs off so the litte stuff at the bottom gets denser it takes a few time to under where a good line is one what to take off and what not to take off ive done over a few thousand plants and mulitiple strains and everyones abit different and doing so many plants at once they all seem to do what they wanna do at times lots to factor in when it come to a good deleaf. the big one is lighting and light position with plant position
