I’ll watch the whole thing when I have some time.

There are excellent growers that do this on purpose. Often you see folks post colorful fade type photos that are a result of stopping nutes at the end. You can clearly go either way and we might be just talking about grow styles and picking fly shit outta pepper. Both work pick whichever style you like better.
Yeah, we are good. One thing I do like in the video is that the scientists more than once talk about the myriad of grow styles, and that every big grow they see on the field has their own tried and true methods.

I like knowing the why behind stuff and this video shows that. I think the medium matters a lot, and I admit that is one fault of the study, they do compare 60+ clones, but they only compare one grow medium. As I'm learning more about this, I'm understanding that the variables at play in biology are vast to say the least.

Moe you seem like the guy who would love to do their own studies given the equipment, like myself. It's always good to be a little skeptical, I think. Oh, that reminds me, this study is peer reviewed I believe they said.

i just found this cool article about the origins of the strain i'm growing, Black Domina, from the makers, Sensi Seeds. Didn't know it was a registered/copyrighted strain. not sure what that even means in this market.

A couple new ones, feels like she is finishing so slow. It's like she knows how bad I want her lol

A few new ones, I really think all of my far red bars are responsible for the purple, same thing happened on last run, different strain

Looks delicious. Keep doing what you are doing.

Looks like all the white has turned brown, getting there.
Yepp!! :) the white is all gown, and getting some yellowing of leaves like she is about done.
Man my patience is running thin playing this waiting game lol it's almost like the plant knows my anticipation and is prolonging it just to piss me off!

then another month of "patience" after that.. just ran out of first harvest so now i'm dependent on my neighbor(weed man isn't far lol) until i get some of my own again. got two 1lb grove bags, hoping i can fill both of them :)

I do have that 2x2 one that got pollenated, @Moe.Red what can i do with the hermie seeds? is there any use to them, or just trash?

Sorry missed that part of the thread. What happened? Did a plant self pollinate or did a hermie pollinate an otherwise good female? What caused the hermie?

If you know you caused it and won’t do it again go ahead and try. If these seeds happened for apparently no reason throw them out would be my move. Or practice different germination methods with the free seeds for the experience.

That's a plant from a different thread, different tent. Yes, I know how it happened, a Hermie outside the tent pollinated the one in the 2x2. Everything is taken care of for that not to happen again, was planning on throwing the seeds out, just didn't know if there was any use to them.

Risk is higher for nanners than stable genetics. use at your own risk. If you need the space for known good genetics, just hang on to them. Someday you might get bored and grow them out. If you are swimming in weed - so what if they hermie again. but if you are desperate for product, I'd choose something else.

I meant some use outside of sowing them. But nevermind, didn't mean to take this much of your time

I dunno, like in a smoothie or something?

Make a Christmas ornament?

Try and see if they explode like popcorn?

Press them and make cannabis oil for cooking? (you are gonna need a mess of them for this)

I'm still thinking.

🤔

No need to PM, we can do this live.

First, let me explain that I am not saying "double up the pink for terps" and that is what I would do. What I do is watch the plants very carefully and try to adjust my nutes to the needs of the cultivar. They vary widely. If you find that you are in flower and you think that additional P&K are needed to keep up with the plant needs, I would add more pink rather than go to KoolBloom, because the pink stuff has sulfur which helps with terps. I'm not saying double up the pink on every grow, just if you need more PK then you might as well get the sulfur too.

How do you know what the plant needs? Experience. Reading and watching others who are doing well. And posting great pics and asking for feedback. You can totally overdo it with pink and make things worse too.

Calmag - by the time you are in flower where the added PK is needed, you should be tapering off or eliminating cal mag.

You are not bothering me, and I am not an expert. Not when it comes to NPK ratios - I gotta start with a baseline and then stare at the plants to try to figure out what if anything to adjust. It will be different based on genetics and media. Jacks is pretty cool tho, and I'm still learning all the ins and outs. You might find this helpful:

Armor SI is good, and does well with buffering PH. You locked in what all that means and how to set PH?
Howdy there! Thanks so much for all this info! I took a break from the forums and did a nice bikepacking ride to finish out the year (took me 3 days, did an out and back of the C&O canal here in the DC/Maryland area, hella nice trail to check out if your ever in DC, some nice fishing spots there too).
So yeah, when i got back, i saw like a million notifications so i just said fk it ill get back to it. I also did an overhaul on my grow room, photos to come. Lol, anywho...

In response to the extra pink stuff: so just see how the plant is budding, if its not fattening up as much as I expect, add more Pink. I for sure prefer the idea of using the extra sulfur in the Pink vs koolbloom.

Calmag: By what week of flower do you suggest i nix the calmag? I figure I will taper my calmag down by like 50ppm per week of flower until, lets say the start of week 5 (?) of flower, i stop adding calmag. Sound about right?

So heres my first week of flower and late flower recipe's w/koolbloom. How much pink would i put in place of all the koolbloom?
Early flower: 200ppm of cal mag, 3.2ml/gal Micro, 1ml/gal Veg, 3.2ml/gal bloom .5ml/gal koolbloom.
Late flower: 3.5ml/gal Micro, 4.7ml/gal Bloom, 4.7ml/gal Koolbloom.

Hope ya had a great Christmas! Thanks again for the help, i truly appreciate it!

,

Ah, I had to Google that term. But I got you, it is long, and could be better summed up.
"Statistically there is no difference from a scientific analysis of mineral content, terpenes, thc content, or flavor between 14, 10, 7, and 0 day flushes before harvest"

In the video they show many graphs and explain their methods, with Shane from Migro as a kind of moderator.

So at first one could say that there is no benefit to flushing, but the better take away is that there is a very negligible difference between feeding the last two weeks and not feeding. So if there is near zero difference, like 1% between all the various comparisons, why waste money feeding the last two weeks when you don't have to.

One interesting point I haven't seen before is that flushing in a coco mix medium can actually raise some mineral content as others are lowered.

I can see people having a different take away than myself from that, but to me that's how I take it. If there isn't any negligible difference between them, why waste money on nutes when it makes zero to little difference.
whats up bro! Its your long lost growmie lol. Hope all is well! I took a break from the thcfarmer, and am glad to be back, though its gonna take me years ro get back to any comments made to me so lol. Anyway, yeah dude i didnt flush my last crop and it turned out pretty damn good smoke. I just tapered it off to like 300-400ppm's during last week or so.

Hey zombie welcome back and merry Christmas to you too.

I’m getting the feeling ninja wants me to quit polluting his thread. Tag me in on your thread if you need help and I’ll do what I can.

Holy crap my bad @ninjadip I legit thought I asked this question on my thread. I wont pollute your thread anymore with my ramblings lol. Will repost this question in my thread. :D

you guys are good, i'm happy with any action now that i'm married lol

i've been away myself, holidays and all and some chillin out

just harvested today,
so the thread will only be so much longer

here are some pics, i had to rush the harvest as i had a thing tonight i had to be at. after work tomorrow i will come home and do some more trimming, until the dry is done and then do the nice take my time trimming before the grove bags

i saw some amber Sunday i believe, and didn't have time to get to the harvest until today. had to get those loppers out. purple calyxes came up three fold in the past few days. leaves turning yellow. the signs were there

the smell is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can't emphasize that enough.

the purple is evident in the micro and macro-scopic

where i've been over the holidays, just beautiful countryside on the east coast, in the summer the field rotates between crops but is the most nostalgic when covered in corn.
