I have an Agent Orange plant outside thats been acting strange. It flowered almost immediately and is about 1/2 as tall as the others from same group - the others havent even started flowering yet.

Even though its on the smaller side (about the size my indoors usually get to) it looks great, some of the chunkiest buds i ever grown.
Decent trichomes (not great) But...
It has almost no smell to it, nothing good anyway. Just smells like a plant.

I have plenty of time left in the season but, should i be worried?
Think itll get smelly eventually?

Don't worry be happy. Its looking great.

The occassional early bloomers happen, no big deal its smoke to have ready sooner to enjoy. Sometimes strains aren't that smelly, even if its from the same batch of seeds the possible phenotype variations and different characteristics among them so vast in numbers it would be impossible to keep track of them all, There so many strains and so much diversity among genetics.

Mj is not that different from people in terms of super vast diversity. So I like to think weed is a lot like people. Some smell some don't some go bald others grow tall others stay short and have hair to spare and so on so forth.

Come to think of it I did citrissy strains before and one wasnt all that potent smell wise. But a different strain really was (california orange bud og) both were super nice smoking either way.

Yeah your plant is looking awesome, and coming along. Enjoy! I'd be more concerned with things like oil production but that looks like no concern at all, its getting quite sugary looking. Plants that behave that way are typically just exploding with trichs by the last couple weeks.

You in the Northern hemisphere? We're getting more than 12 hours of light right now and unless you're running light dep you're going to have issues mid flower outdoors right now.

Terps can come in late. One of our strains legit doesn't get terps till the last couple weeks of flower and then it comes FLOODING in.

It didnt seem like a prob since the others are vegging away on Q?

Op what parallels are you on and how far along in weeks are plants, and light where they were and were they are now, are any break up or inconsistencies relevant ?

I am heavily baked and hope I didn't miss something. GL

My notes say - they went outside March 19th. That wouldve been their first feeding also - Reefertilizer 3 part system (big fan)
Two agent orange and one golden gate haze. Theyve all lived on the same table on the porch in pretty much the same spots, ive turned and shuffled them a bit over the summer - the one flowering may be in the "best" spot (most light) - but it is my favorite.

I wasnt really concerned until today - when i noticed that some of the hairs are turning red - or just drying out. And maybe it was finishing up without ever developing a smell.

The lack of smell might just be temporary

ok so am i understanding this correctly,..
your photo period shouldn’t be flowering?
the other 2 are not?
all plants in same size pots and never transplanted?
if so than your flowering plant sensed death from becoming rootbound and started flowering to be able to produce seeds,..
regardless of light..
might have pollinated the others as well,..

Thanks for that. I haven't encountered such a creature yet. My girls are usually terpy by 2nd-3rd week of June, first werk of July at the latest. When I water the canopy fills with terpy goodness. I love it! 😎

Good eye....those buds do have a very leafy appearance that doesn't quite fit with big tight clusters. Am I seeing some 3 blades up top? I didnt notice at first glance. You could be right @GNick55 .

Had a plant with little to no smell during it's whole cycle, ended up not having a very strong effect on the body or mind.

If you ever get a chance, try The White. It's a bizarre experience. It could easily be bred into strains you've had before. Perhaps that's why a late terping strain was mentioned.

I grow for terps first, cannabinoids second so it wasn't my favorite. Lol

2 weeks later - I think its definitely flowered twice for whatever reason.
Theres a new layer of buds growing out of the older bud with new white pistils on top. Weird.
Good news - its starting to get a smell, no skunk to it but super fruity. Ill let it go as long it doesnt rot.

First off. WOW real nice plant!
Don't worry about it bud. Some plants really stink others not so much.
She will likely smell real nice when your curing her.

Update - had to harvest today, noticed some small pieces of bud rot and mold. It never really developed a super strong smell but - big dense buds, great flavor and super sticky. Had a few hits of the scissor hash and its pretty good. Cant wait to see how it cures up.
And - because its a mystery strain, ive got 4 clones started. Maybe theyll have a smell?

In retrospect - turns out this may have been partly right.

I think the plant in question was a Golden Gate haze auto and It was stressed about something (maybe the pot) And I think it did seed my other plants a bit. I ended up with a about 60 good seeds (which was perfect) ive been happy with both strains and Im looking forward to see what the cross is like this season.

I was actually about to order some STS and seed some of my plants this season anyway, so this saved me the trouble.

Still thinking about what to name it

My Agent Orange started to smell about week 4 and got stinkier as the days passed. When I chopped it, it got really loud. By the time I
was ready to trim it was almost unbearable. First time my wife ever said " that is the worst smelling shit ". Had to light candles to trim.
Smoke was pretty good with some citrus. I have a couple of clones but I don't think the buzz is worth the stench. Not for me anyway.

Seeds were from Canuk. If that is your thing it won't disappoint.

Yeah, its got like almost a "cat piss" stink to it - but in a good way (if thats possible) Im still a fan though, Ive got 4 clones outside and 1 almost finished in the tent.

I do feel for my neighbors when I trim plants up (any strain) but its usually a pretty quick operation - and if they need some weed they know where to find it.

If I didn't know what it was I would also think cat piss.
