First two photos are from yesterday. They had just come out of the blackout tent. Both popped and good stem height.
Last picture from this morning. Turned green which is encouraging, but don’t like how leggy the one in front got.
Still decided which I will grow out for the full challenge leaning toward the front one for leave development, but we’ll see.
I have my gallon pot there for the final transplant, I just like stepping my plants up through size appropriate housing.
Soil mix is still the fox farm and compost blend. The compost comes from the back yard. I’ll also be using some FF topical fertilizer later on in the grow.
I think that’s all, there Northern Lights, but I had that in the first post. I always like this time when they are young and full anf promise.

I will give it about a week or so to develop more of a root structure, then up pot. I have enlisted the help of garden gnomes and their ancient magics to bestow extra special JuJu on this plant.

Thursday Update: 8/15/24

It appears that I finally have a contender. Blueberry Cupcake. Probably about my last choice from my genetics for this particular challenge but at least I got a damn sprout. Not the greatest looking sprout ever but it is what it is. 🤞

In Mondays update, I just had a seed with a tap root big enough to plant so I planted in Happy Frog Soil in a solo cup.

Last evening (36 hours after planting) it broke through the soil!!! 1st picture is from last evening when it was out of the soil, the next 2 pictures were from this evening (24 hours later), right before making this post.

I usually water with a spray bottle in the early stages to avoid over watering but the last seeds I germinated for my 8x4 seemed like the seedlings were growing slower then normal and I wasn't sure why. I decided instead of spraying them, I'll pour the water instead. By the next day they took right off!
By me being cautious with watering and using a spray bottle, I was actually under watering without even realizing it.
I decided with my 1 gallon challenge plant, to immediately start hand watering once I have a sprout, instead of spraying, to see if I notice quicker growth compared to all the years I've been spraying.

I'm just happy to still be in this challenge! These early stages are kind of boring, I get so impatient lol but it gives me time to think of how I'm going to train this plant with such little time!
