OFFICIAL TIMELINE FOR THE 2024 ONE GALLON CHALLENGE!

POST INITIAL ENTRY PICTURE AS YOU DROP YOUR SEED, ON THE 5TH ADD USERNAME IN THE PHOTO IF POSSIBLE, ALL CONTESTANTS CAN POST AN INITIAL POST REGARDLESS OF DAY OF THE WEEK THEN BEGIN TO FOLLOW MEMBER SUBMISSION DATES LISTED BELOW

Germ timeline: 8/5 - 8/12 (7 days)
Seedling timeline 8/12-8/26 (14 days)
Veg timeline 8/26 - 9/30 (36 days)
Lights flip to 12/12 9/30

This timeline leaves 92 days from end of veg / start of flower, to new years. Most plants should finish within this timeline. There will be no exact finish date, when all entrants have finished flower the contest will end, we will determine an adequate dry time (most likely 2 weeks) then we will vote on weight and manicured bud appearance last. For the other categories voting can begin when the last plant finishes.

May have a best appearance vote at end of veg as well (best plant shape / most efficient training method etc)

The dates above are final, all entrants must follow the timeline, I will split the final members list into 2 you will be placed in group 1 or group 2, you will enter your TWICE WEEKLY submission photos on the specified date, if you for some reason need to miss a submission date (away from home etc.) please send me a PM so i know if anyone asks! Thank you!

It's Monday and I'm in

as of 7:47am PST. 9hrs later

Usually only plant the ones that sink. Sarsaparilla 4 of 5 looks good. Autos 4 of 15 not so good and why I want to refresh my seeds. Several hundred S1's of this cross would be quite welcome so I'll soak some more tomorrow morning if I have to but should have my entries in these 2 groups. They gonna get babied

Running black sugar by seedsmans
Growing in a mix of coco peat and coast of Maine soil. 1ga. Fabric pot After the solo cup. Going to be using greenleaf mega crop. Just checked and she sunk. Will be moving to a paper towel in a few. Hoping by tomorrow evening I’ll have it in soil.

Gary Payton x Okie X 2012 cement shoes (fem photo untested)
Dropped 2 seeds at 1PM today 8/5, will pick first seedling that breaks through the soil once planted
Seeds soaking in 20ml tap water / 1ml 3% peroxide sitting on the @SpiderFarmerLED heat mat, always have success with the mat, will probably pop them into medium before bed in a small 1 cup pot to sprout and put inside the cloner under the dome

Medium will be promix BX-M and additional perlite
Will be using mainly organics, in the sense it must have a ORMI approval on the package, Gaia green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4, azomite, epsom, gypsum, myco, fox farm microbe brew, big bloom, and cal mag as needed, as well as advanced nutrients organics Mikes OG Tea, earthworm castings, possibly some coast of Maine fish bone meal and kelp meal, will be making teas as well if I can keep her healthy with organics I’ll keep her that way if not she needs a boost I’ll supplement but document so it’s known, plan is organic through and through if possible!

Dropped 3 seeds white gold by exotic genetics. Growing in 1 gallon home made sip with build a soil 3.0. Going make a bunch of knf nutrients and amend with craft blend.

Three random seeds from an old breeding project. Strains unknown. All photoperiod. First to sprout will be my entry.

Organic living soil of 1 part native soil, 2 parts organic soil conditioner. Amended with DTE starter mix, humic acid, azomite, cracked barley, corn meal, live inoculant culture, alfalfa, kelp and diatomaceous earth. Top dress during flower with Roots Organics Terp Tea Bloom.

Strain - Tropicana Cookies
Type - Photoperiod
Medium - Soil (Fox Farm or Pro-Mix)
Nutrients - Synthetic (maybe Flora Series)
Pot Type & Size - 1.2 gallon Air Pot, base will be moved up a couple rows to get closer to 1 gallon.

Might do a SIP but not sure yet, might feed the wicks so they're in place if I can't keep up with watering in an Air Pot.

I'm not really sure what my plans are yet, first time growing in anything under 3 gallons so this is all new. I don't think I'll scrog for this grow, probably just LST clips. Just going to see what the plant gives me and make it up as I go lol.

Dropped Seed this morning.
Soaked for 13 hours.
Placed in paper towels.

Doing a freebie rqs OG kush dropped in water .medium will be a mix of whatever I have on hand . Never tried anything like this very exciting thanks for the opportunity.

STRAIN Sour Diesel
TYPE Feminized photo period
MEDIUM Organic soil 1/3 Coco , 1/3 Earthworm castings, 1/3 Silica enhanced perlite
NUTRIENTS Build a soil Craft blend , weekly watering of Recharge, and Neptunes Harvest organic line, with fox farm cal mag and ewc tea.
CONTAINER/POT 2 gallon fabric pot filled with 4.5 liters of soil and trimmed to the fill line, with 1.5 liters removed for future top dressing. So starting at 3 liters of soil.
GROW SETUP Using 1x3 x3 portion of tent with fixed lighting at 27 inches high, using a Mars Hydro TS1000 dimming full spectrum LED, and a 3x3 doubled over scrog net. My plan is to try and utilize the limited amount of vertical space by filling out the entire 1x3 canopy using low stress training and scrog netting.
3 seeds were soaked this morning 8/5/24 at 8 am eastern standard time. Then transferred to damp paper towel and sandwich bag this evening 8/5/24 at 9:30 est. I will check them tomorrow morning and again tomorrow afternoon to see if they have sprouted. They’re going to be kept in a dark light proof container until transported to solo cup.

Strain: Sour Jealousy Auto from fast buds
Will be in bio bizz light mix with added perlite, vermiculite, coco coir, diatomaceous earth and great white mycorrhizae.
Bio bizz organic range of liquid nutrients.

I dropped my seed (sounds wrong ) at 5pm yesterday the 5th August, into some rain water with a small pinch of mycorrhizae. Will transfer to paper towel later today.
Then into a 4.5l air pot where I have moved the base up 2 levels so it’s more like a legit gallon. Also added some moisture wick in case I have to work away at all over the next few months.

Pot - less than 1 US gallon air pot (by mistake- god help me )
Nutes- any Advanced Nutrients leftovers I have

I have 3 seeds here if they will all sprout I will put one in 0.8 gallon in coco, second in 2.8 gallon in mixture of coco and light mix and third one in 5 gallon full of soil.
I call it Babushka project
I will just add that I grew autos just few times, never successfully grew in coco and never grew in mixture of coco and soil and pot below 1 gallon

After selection I let a jar of water sit at room temperature for a couple hours then into the cabinet above my stove with the seed. The bean sunk, and appears to be starting to split.

Medium: fertilome and vermiculite (70/30).
Nutrients: TBD
Container: #1 nursery pot, but If I find one closer to 1g I'll use it.

Auto flower : Runtz x Grape started 8-5 soaked then placed this morning 8-6 into a damp towel into a blownup baggy. Sits with my vegging clones under a CFL lamp to get the humidity up. It will be moved to a different darker spot later.

Soil : Seedling starter soil. I will transplant into 1 gallon nursery pot as it outgrows the 2x2 cup. It will be a soil mix i amended with worm castings, extra perilite.

Hand watered - Poo tea fish & bat guano as needed.

For the rest of the contest I will continue to take pictures on the days of each week that I'm supposed to. All my pics are timestamped in the file name. I will upload *all* of my pics as soon as I chop.

Two reasons for this. 1. My number 1 Cardinal Rule is to never share pics online of *anything I'm currently growing* and 2. I have no stable internet connection for the foreseeable future. It literally took me 20 minutes just to upload that photo. I can *barely* load these topics at all - especially the photo heavy ones.


So just so y'all know I'm not trying to pull any shady shit
