Just left the house. Ill be back in a couple days. They are looking a lot better and there are a ton of bud sites. The plants were hungry but they are coming around. I think I'll end up with a bunch of decent sized tops due to the training. Its sloppy, but I hope it will be successful. This strain has always shown beautiful colors when I've grown it. Looking forward to it! Another week of stretch at most and then I'm going to do some defoliation from the bottom up so they all get more light. Its a bit of a mess under the canopy right now. Im thinking I might run ten of these next time in my 4x4 using one gallon pots. Quick 4-6 week veg with some topping and right into flower. I feel like that makes the most sense for me. I have a ton of good seeds butthey are regulars. Gonna have to do a pheno hunt with those some time soon too.

Cheers Everyone!

Whatchapoppin’?

Whatchapoppin’?
Some beans!!! It is mystery strain. Stress hermed in my tent with multiple strains including the unknown cultivar. I honestly think its an OG of some sort though. Definately smells super gassy. Thats if I had to take a guess. Its almost impossible to tell without testing. I do have like 40 regular Hibiscus Sunrise seeds from Colorado Seed Company that I want to do a hunt with. I just grew 3 Aloha Limones from them and it turned out really good! Thats a ton of work though and I'm not sure I can do it with my schedule. Well see...

Finishing up week 5 soon. Another 3-4 to go for sure. Plants stink like crazy! Its crazy how some strains don't smell unless agitated and others just blow you away. No two plants are ever the same when popping beans. Really cool. Im currently popping some fresh beans and have a couple new sprouts going already. I have another 6 weeks before the flower tent is available. Ill probably dry them in the tent like I did last time. Not sure tho. Its not going to be a huge haul this time around. Im thinking it has a lot to do with those tiny pots. Lol.

Those look like they might work. As long as they don't dispense the water too fast. Do you just screw on a plastic bottle to them upside down? Maybe ill grab a couple and check them out. I want to get an autopot system at some point. I want to eventially try running organic pre amended coco. That would be perfect with the autopot system. Soil would work fine too im sure. Just run phd water thru them. Easy peasy! Plants have another 3 weeks or so to. Buds aren't very big but they look and smell delicious! I have a few one week old seedlings going in my veg closet as well.

Cheers yall!

Two more weeks baby! These ladies smell so amazing! Thinking it has to be some sort of OG kush due to the gassiness of this strain. All in all I am very happy how things turned out, given the amount of torture these were put through. So I think I've pretty much answers my question regarding root bound plants. While I don't doubt these would have grown far bigger with more root space. I conclude that plants will finish just fine in a small container. However there will be some loss in size. These are going on 6 months in one gallon pots with living soil. Thats crazy! Lol! I already have some healthy seedlings going at the moment. Ill go ahead and fill yall in on the next one as soon as this tents be/j⁵I<⁰

Id say another 2 weeks until they get the axe. No problems here. Just coasting my way thru flower. Loving the colors and smells these ladies are giving off. Buds aren't that bug but they are rock hard and sticky as hell. I don't think I'll be using the scrog net next time around. Its just a pain in the ass when it comes to managing the plants. I need to be able to take them out of the tent when necessary. I feel like it's just more work in the end. It definately does look a lot cleaner though. That and you get more top buds. Even if they are a bit smaller you get that top bud quality all the way around. Well see. Anyways, my next update will be at harvest time in a few weeks.

Until then...
Cheers yal!

Another week maybe two im thinking. Trichomes are still clear and some milky. No amber yet. Still needs to ripen a bit and swell. Im honestly impressed. Almost 6 months in 1 gallon pots, grown in soil. Lmfao! Buds are super dense! Not very big but heavy and very loud. That super gassy og stank. I love og strains honestly. Wanna try godfather og at some point. On a side not I think I'm done with scrog nets. Its too much of a pain in the ass. I can't get into my tent to do proper maintenance. If I had a bigger tent then yea maybe. I think I prefer growing individually potted bigger plants that I can top and lst. Bigger pots next time for sure if working with soil. Through this experience I've concluded that root bound is bs really. The plants will just grow per size of root mass. Im sure if I had transplanted these into #5 they would definitely have yielded more. I have some seedlings going right now. One is very strong. I overwatered a few of them a bit as I had to go out of town for three days. No worries. Plenty of beans. Im going to top the bigger one and stunt it a bit so the others can catch up. These are 2 weeks old now. Btw, can anyone tell me what kind of companion plant is growing with my lady? I used some old promix that was in the garage and some kind of seed must have got in there. Idk if I should keep it or toss it. It looks kinda cool. Lol.

Cheers Yall!

And a quick guess on the companion plant.....is it a Strawberry 🍓 plant?

Thanks! You hit the nail on the head! It sure is a strawberry plant as my mom had strawberries in the garden this summer. I dont think they are a good companion plant. I don't really understand the whole companion concept. Dont all plants need to eat food. Thus taking nutrients away from the cannabis plant. Im gonna pluck it and put it in its own pot. See if I can get some strawberries! I'll let them do their thing at the bottom of the tent for shits and giggles.

Nice!! Depending on what variety Strawberry 🍓 it is, you already know about runners.....ha....they've taken over my front yard.....we were going for that, but not as much as there is......I'll thin um out soonish or in the spring......

Companion planting is great!! The plants work together, without eating each others food.....beyond how I can explain simply.....I've been attempting that in my so-called gardens every year......yet I've gotta look um up almost every year.....just in case you know......

Your defol game is on point! Lookin sharp, high and tight!😍

Thanks for all the positive insight everyone! I think another week for these girls to ripen and swell a bit and then chop time! Calyxys look like they are maturing daily now. Buds are all uniformly sized and very heavy. They smell delicious! Okay size to them considering their roots definately could have used some more space. This strain always shines with pretty colors. Buds have hues of pink and purple which is appealing to the eyes. Not a very frosty strain but the terps are heavily on point. It's weird though; You would think that the frostier the flowers the better right? I've learned that this isn't always the case. The bud im smoking on right now is frosty and great, but I feel like this particular strain was stronger. Even if it isn't as frosty. I guess these effects are subjective as everyone's bodies and preferences are different. Ive had smoked plenty of weed that looked ridiculous but smoked like mids. On the other hand; Some of my all time favorite weed which looked like some decent outdoor blew my socks off. Weird how that works sometimes? Also, does anyone have any data regarding flowers that have been blasted with light all the way through harvest, vs buds that got lower intensity light towards the end of their life cycle. How about cutting the hours of darkness down from 12 a week before harvest. It makes sense to me as this is what the plant experiences in nature. Doesn't necessarily mean that nature is running them at 100%. I guess I'm just curious what people think about this or is this just more bro science. Lol! Does anybody have any insight on this? I will update after chopping and transplanting some teens in a week or so.

Cheers yall!

Well i just love how you stripped them and now they are all tops of the best of the best colas. You don't mess around LOL. I was so impressed i went to the Colorado seed website to check them out. I can't buy any right now but i wrote down what i think i will in the future. Night nurse, ghost ship and krishna kush. I just need to split this with another couple friends in order to buy some. I won't grow anymore till after the New Year anyway. I'm looking ahead to next summer outdoor and beginning indoor in March for clones.

Week 9 of flower today. Chopping next week on Wednesday i think. Plants still need to ripen a bit and I see they are still putting on weight. They are still swelling and starting to flop over from the denseness. There are purple hues in the flowers as well. I would have liked some more trichome production but the terps make up for it. This strain has the best taste! Like a super gassy and pungent old school kush. See yall at harvest!

Cheers!

These pics are from a couple days ago. Ill be home tomorrow so ill chop then or Wednesday. They are pretty much done at this point. I can tell by the smell and trichomes ofcourse. I like me a little bit of amber for a more chilled out experience. I feel like they would put on even more weight if I waited longer. This strain has a tendency to throw out mad foxtails and hairs at end of its life. Good for weight but bad overall due to the inside of the buds being too mature and outsides still being premature. Girls really wanna get knocked up before its over. The trichome production goes into overdrive too. I feel like way too many people chop their plants too early and lose out on the benefits of that last couple weeks. Oh well. I also transplanted a couple seedlings from their solo cups into their 2.25 gallon veg pots. I used roots organic original soil this time. I also mixed in some worm castings, dolomite lime, myko, and a tablespoon of gaia green 444. I waited a little too long though unfortunately. The plant with the imposter strawberry started showing signs of hunger. Maybe the strawberry ate all of its food lol. She will be fine in a few days im sure. She's already looking a little bit better. I think I'm going to,just yoo start growing with a more laid back approach to everything. Meaning I'm gonna top and lst my ladies, and ditch the scrog nets. At least for now. I need to be able to pull plants in and out of my tent so the net is a pita. Might not be the most even or pretty looking canopy but I have plenty of light to make up for height differences. Plus ill be popping some new strains soon so its easier this way. Stay tuned yall!

Oh yea. P.S. Ph testing drops never fail and don't have to worry about calibration!
