For me, I consider this to be the plant saying " Hey human, thanks for giving me life, but I'm all done now".... I really don't think EC or nutrients has anything to do with your plant consuming less water...Its just age and timing? (and in your case the complication of auto genetics?)

I have been able to keep them going at this stage by watering lightly and less often, but not much happens at this point other than maturity of the trichomes.

As many have said, a few nice macro shots of the buds will help let us know where you are. I think we are all interested to see the tricomes at this point.

I need to practise how to take a picture with a microscope first, these are some close ups from my phone:

Thanks for the explanation. They make it sound like the F1 is the most uniform crop and since they started to use the technique with corn in the sixties or seventies, yield went up. I am slowly losing hope these buds fill up more, ppm is at 530 again, EC rose from 0.7 to 0.8 again and they did not drink anywater since this morning...
I use a Nikon DSLR with a macro lens to take close up tricome shots, but there are other options... Here are some examples...

For cheap, you can get a clip on lens for your phone. Another option is a hand help microscope.. (I see many using these)... Example below for Iphone.

Noticed after posting this you may already own a microscope, disregard my post here and get that thing fired up !

Thanks, I will give my bluetooth microscope a shot otherwise revering to one of the options above.

Day 69 (from sowing seeds, day 66 since sprouting and 54 days after transplanting from aero to rdwc):

Tried to make some photo's with the microscope, but it is really though to get a clear picture:

Perhaps I will take a small bud off to get a better picture. From what I saw on the microscope not al thrichomes are clear yet, only spotted some amber on one top. Overall the plants look like to suffered a lot this week, probably because they barely drank.

Dont know how much longer I will let them live. But they seem pretty end of life to me.

I also did lower the EC to 0.7 with 460-470PPM.

Hey there @One_Bell they are looking done man. Don't see those ever bombing back or producing any larger buds. They are about near death. I would pull the trigger and harvest now, before they degrade any further!! 😉

You might be right. Today I had some time to take a representable top off and made some pictures:

I have seen more milky thrichomes but there is already amber there in some pictures so I thinking chopping would be good?

@THC_AeroGrower @Mikedin @FungusGnat @Galgrows @Skinnypuppy80 @FloridaMike and everybody else who wants to chime in, should I chop or wait longer?

In short, yes I would harvest soon, any day now.

Clues….

1. Pistols are brown and curling in— check… (your first clue that you are entering harvest window…

2. Mainly cloudy with a few ambers. Check ! I’m still seeing a few clear. Remember not to use sugar leaf trichomes to determine harvest, use the trichomes on the buds..

3. As I have been in your exact situation a few times, I mentioned that things will get really rough in a week or two. This happened to me and I harvested as soon as I saw the yellowing creeping into the buds.

4. Senecense and low water consumption. A very good clue that your plant is at the end of life.

You can harvest now or run them a little longer watching the buds, your call. I normally harvest when I start to see amber in the buds.. Just make sure there aren’t a lot of clear trichomes. If the yellowing makes it into the flower, harvest immediately ! Otherwise, the trichomes can still be left to mature if you’d like.

👆👆Agree with what he said. Nothing it seems is ever the same with how the trichs ripen all the same time. Everything i see in the plants say it's time. Congratulations with your grow, i know it was not the easiest of auto grows.

Thanks guys!!

I might harvest them later today. I am planning on cutting the mainstem, and hang them upside down in the tent with no lights on, low temp and 45-55% humidity, with airflow but no direct air from the fans on the hanging buds. Anything else I should concider?

You’re in the harvest window which can last a week or two. It really comes down to user preference at this point… some like early harvest (a more clear and energetic high but slightly less potent) some like it in the middle (mainly cloudy a few amber) very potent, and others like to wait for more amber for a couch lock narcotic type high…

I like the middle option and you are in that range now if I’m seeing the tricomes correctly…. Considering the yellowing, I wouldn’t wait much longer unless you still see a lot of clear trichomes.

Thanks, that would be what I am aiming for also. I will take one or two more tops off to examine with the microscope to see if I see the same. Thanks again for your advice!

Congratulations ! This is exciting a first time harvest !

Your drying plan seems solid except the RH. It’s VERY important that they don’t dry too quickly in the first few days, go nice and slow with slight air movement (no fans directly on buds)

I’d stay in the 55 RH range (no lower) if it was me and give them a week or more to dry..(slowly)

If they dry too fast in the first few days, you will lose a lot of goodness…( without anyway to get it back) I’ve made this mistake, such a shame !

So just keep the humidity around 55% then? Or 55%-60% just to be on the safe side and lower it 1,5% everyday?

I could type pages on curing (very important) but won't..

55-60 is perfect, you want air movement (your exhaust fan on a very low setting) no direct fans on the flowers...

When in the jars (after drying) you want to keep the RH around 58-62.. This is the best RH for your buds to live in long term.

So, yes 55-60 RH is a good safe place to be.. Anywhere from 50-60 is good for drying.. (60 is a bit high though, I'd shoot for 55 or so)

If your up for an experiment, I'll show you how to water cure a few of those colas. Its fun, easy and you can sample your buds in a week... (It takes me 2- 3 months to cure in jars before smoking)... I always water cure a few big colas while I wait for my normally cured buds to slowly marinate...

Congratulations bro, you've made it to the finish line! 🏁🏁🏁
Mostly cloudy, few amber = peak potency, for the next few days.
As others have said, if you wait for more amber = more couch lock effect

I say chop, chop! any day now

Listen to what others have said
above about drying & curing. 💪 ✌️

Day 70 (from sowing seeds, day 67 since sprouting and 55 days after transplanting from aero to rdwc):

After 70 days I decided to chop both plants after ensuring the trichomes are in the sweet spot.

It has been a fun and learning experience so far. Probably end up with 10g dry lol but at least I have grown it myself.

Better luck than I had! I chopped a male and 3 herms to be left with one viable plant. I think you did well for a first grow! 10g dried?! yeah, I bet u surpass that by a long shot!
