ugh same. played around with moving to the oregon area this year but ended up staying local. got two kids going to college this year, once we get the other four thru life we will probably bail.

The dream is to get somewhere big enough to have a ‘family compound’. Assuming my kids don’t hate me by then but it would be cool to have everyone in the same spot.

If that doesn’t work, I want a smaller house on a bigger piece of land. Until then, it’s suburban farming lol
Perfection.

My girls are 11 and 8. So yeah they can either come with us or not. Do the same thing you're talking about.

Corn is a first for me this year. Going to direct sow them today. Not much, like 6-8 stalks. Any tips?
Start heavy, then thin a little but not to thin they need support. We plant our with peas so the peas help keep them upright during our summer storms. Otherwise we were having to try and stand them up often. We planted about 100 kernels we'll thin to around 40'ish.

I save all my egg shells, coffee grounds, and banana peels, and spread among the garden all throughout the year, whether it’s growing season or not. Into the garden it goes. During the growing season, I toss the banana peels in a 5 gallon bucket of rainwater to “brew” and use to water the plants when needed.

Eggs with shells if you can't get the bone meal. Crack a few, whip it up (including shells) and pour on a cookie sheet. Lay it in the sun to completely dry. Grind/crush up. Lots of calcium and phosphorus.
I'm gonna check that one out.

I'm gonna try brewing some banana peels. So how that works on the entire garden this year.

Seed sowing is well on it's way. First babies to appear are the orange accordion tomatoes and the soy beans. 🌱🌿🌾🌱🌿🌾☘️☘️

I'm in So-Cal, so no issue with Summer Storms, just breezy and 90°+ Mediterranean climate for most of the grow season. Thanks for the tips though. That's what I ended up doing this morning. Starting heavy and will maintain as they grow.

We compost just about everything.

Rabbit piss diluted to 25-50% is a great liquid fertilizer. N-P-K is about same as the poop but no waiting for bioavailability.

I’m in the SW Arkansas so we are hot and swampy.

The sacrificial lamb. Been on her own for a week. Will she flip or not?

Rest of the gang is still getting a little extra light in the garage (for a few hours morning/evening).

Larger ones have been double topped, with the smaller ones getting their first snips the last few days or next week.

Mowing down the greens (so I can justify pizza) every day. A couple started seeding, but hope the rest still have a week or so left.

Pretty pumped for this boy! He is:
Double diesel from oregon green seed crossed to a super skunk. The diesel genetics have the iranian 18 hour flower in it. She is the grandpa. I think it is super cool to see this outlier show! Took him out of 16/8 and put him in 21/3. He is revegging. I have a handful of skunk, diesel, kush, types going, so might just shotgun breed, and create a bunch of early flower stuff!

You would think that if it was that simple to create a reliable, stable, so-called early flower strain, that it would’ve been done by now! Without a big trade off somewhere! Sounds kind of like the results will be sort of a crapshoot! But I hope you find what you’re looking for! Much luck!👍🍀 hope you stumble across that🦄!

Yeah, will have varying phenos for finish times when I run the kids. Plan is to put em in 16/8, and find the early ones, that flower. Check dr. Greenthumb in Quebec. He took the iranian and crossed to a bunch of strains. Just picked up the haze.

Don’t listen to chucky! He doesn’t respect innovation! Full speed! If the rules were always followed we would never progress!

Silly question. I've been noticing only one plant out of the four have a heavy skunk scent. So I read up and see that males may exhibit a heavier skunk smell more so than females.

It's also the darkest green right now. Top plant in left pic, bottom in right pic. The other three smell sweeter and more like just a green plant. They are all just about 8 weeks passed germination now.

Anyone prove this out?

They look good! Probably time to start thinking about up potting! I’ve never paid much attention to the smell at this stage! Other than an occasional stem rub! I prefer the smell of death at thefinish line! The smell of victory!Long way to go! Keep up the good work!🍻
