Hi farmers, I've been lurking on this website for a while and thought that I would make myself a grow-diary. I have a few grows under my belt, but I am by no means a master grower. It's a hobby to me, I enjoy watching them plants grow and enjoy learning more about growing in general. Anyways, the strain is OG kush feminized. I got 8 seeds, but I'm just gonna grow 4 of them for now. I guess now is a good time to list what equipment I'm gonna use.
I have two tents. Dimensions are 70*70*160 and 120*120*200 in centimeters. I have LED lights from Mars hydro, in the small tent I have a ts-600(100w) and in the big tent I have a ts-3000(420w). For ventilation I have an inline fan also from Mars hydro with a controller and a carbon filter. I like that I can adjust the speed of the fan, it has 10 speeds so that is awesome. However, it sucks as an automatic on/off switch. It is suppose to be able to turn on at a set temperature or humidity level, which it can do, but since there is no lower limit set point it ends up just switching on and off constantly. Not too happy about that!
I made an attempt to soundproof the ventilation system as you can see on the image bellow. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a failure. A lot of noise escapes out through the carbon filter, so the box doesn't really do much. I'm thinking maybe I should try and get one of those mufflers and attach that in between the filter and the fan. Maybe that will help!? On the backside of the box the vent splits into two vents so I can suck air from both tents using the same fan. I might have to make some adjustments to this setup at some point because I want to keep it as silent as possible since I sleep in the same room, but it works for now.
I also have two circulation fans, one in each tent and two thermometers/hygrometers and that's about it. Pretty basic setup, but I'm a simple man and I like simple things. :) Oh yeah I also have a humidifier, but I don't really use it, I should have bought a dehumidifier instead.
I use soil as grow medium. It's from BioBizz and it's the light-mix. It holds very little nutrients and I don't mix it with anything else besides the biobizz nutrients I use when watering. I use the BioGrow, BioBloom, TopMax and Root Juice and I just tend to follow the feeding schedule provided by BioBizz except I use a bit less than recommended. I got pots that are 2L, 11L and 25L. For this grow I'm gonna soak the seeds in water for 12-24 hours and then plant them directly into the 2L pots. I used to do the wet towel and plastic bag method, but I don't really see any reason to take the risk of damaging the sprouts when transplanting them into the soil. It is just as fast to just stick them into the dirt right away and just let them do their thing. When they reach a propper size I'm gonna transplant the plants from 2L and into the 25L because the 11L are already in use.
As far as training goes, I'm gonna do the mainline method. This will be the second time I use this method and I have a few ideas I wanna try out. You will see when we get to that stage.
Of course I also have a ph-meter so I can adjust my water. Tap water here is terrible so gotta stay on top of that.
Think that's about it, now lets get these girls started!
