Growing out some freebies I got from Jordan of the islands. God's Candy is a hybrid of God bud and Aficionado's Candyshop (Runtz x Trufflez). I had a difficult time with germinating these guys. Soaked 15 beans and only 5 sprouted. I've had similar problems germinating other God Bud crosses. I've tried 2 others and honestly if the final products weren't such absolute fire I would have quit on these awhile ago. But here we are wading into another grow with these tricky little beans.
This is the first time I'm doing a God bud cross indoors, and it might be my last indoor grow for some time, so I'm pretty stoked for this one. I haven't detailed the infancy or vegetative phase of these gals because I wasn't sure how far they'd make it based on my germination issues. And to be clear I'm relatively new to growing (5 years total, 3 with earnesty, and only 2 indoors) and as of yet I've kinda fudged my way through the germination/seedling phase and made up for it in veg/bloom.
So, 15 beans, 5 sprouts, 2 males and 3 females. 2 of the females are pretty similar, squat, branchy, and with a protruding central cola. One is quite a bit bushier than the other but they share the same basic shape. I trained the lower branches away from the central stock but haven't topped as i understand that God bud crosses don't respond well to topping or bending of the central cola for training.
The 3rd female I am especially excited about. She was a mutant; one I've encountered before in other strains. She basically tops herself and has all her branching shoot out from the sides. So not only do i have 5 main colas but the center of the plant is totally horizontal thus allowing all the little side shoots to go straight up. I did tie down the 5 main branches but otherwise this little gal basically topped and trained herself!
The 2 males are strong, healthy, Christmas trees. Almost identical. I forgot to get pictures but I'm looking forward to crossing this one!
