I'm curious is this simply a characteristic of the genetics, or if it's an outcome of decades of breeding primarily for yield.
My understanding is that Big Bud was selected heavily for flower size, yield per plant, dense buds and good old commercial production. I have been working on a few different projects, and BB brings the weight but the other parent must bring the flavor.

Lineage: Afghani x Skunk #1 x Northern Lights.
Terpenes: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Pinene.

A lot of breeders lost there original lines
What we see today isnt the original
