Was not an assumption. Fact. On the last month you have constantly called people out for being wrong. Your tone deaf. Go start your own fact based website so everyone can leave here and hear only the gospel from such an experienced, perfect grammar human
Wrong.

that was an assumption on your part, by the definition of the word. What you think it means...

who knows. Sorry, but you wanting to be argumentative doesn't change the definition of assumption. But there is no need for more off topic BS of you trying to make this thread about your personal opinions of me. Respect the original posters thread, and stop trying to derail it make it about what you think, or your imagined psychic ability about other users.
The thread is about problem that is a growing problem and we are seeing more often. Hermaphroditism. Yeah, it sucks but we need to do what we can to protect our weed from this problem. From what limited knowledge we have on the plant its generally said that hermaphroditism is a result of genetics and enviornment. It is not always the case, but mostly I am seeing the hermaphroditic plants coming from seeds from pollen chuckers. And for those that are new, inexperienced, you need to think about the seeds as the very foundation the rest of your grow is built around, including the results. So here is a simple warning:
Stay away from pollen chuckers!
Most of the cheap or free seeds you see floating around on various forums come from pollen chuckers. These are people who take already unstable commercial polyhybrids and make random/meaningless crosses without any real selection or testing.
The result is almost always even worse overhybridization. They usually do not know what to look for in the plants. They do not test properly for important traits like hermaphroditism, pathogen resistance, or overall vigor. They often only grow a few plants and end up breeding forward mediocre or runt phenotypes because they have not seen enough of the full expression to pick out the truly exceptional ones.
And here is the real bad part that can and has happened. Even worse are the unscrupulous people who sell or give away surprise seeds from accidental pollination or hermaphroditic plants. These seeds frequently carry hermie genetics and can ruin an entire grow with seeded buds and wasted time.
The good quality seeds are completely different. They are maintained for consistency and quality over many generations. That is why serious growers prefer them over random pollen-chucked material.
If someone is offering you seeds from unknown crosses or “found” seeds, be very cautious. The low price is rarely worth the risk. I'm not saying you can't get acceptable or good results with pollen chuckers seeds, that is also possible. Absolutely. But it is a gamble. You are going to be putting time and resources into your grow, and naturally you want to be proud of that and satisfied with the end result. If you are willing to make that gamble, great. If you don't want to risk your grow, avoid pollen chuckers. Go with the best quality genetics you can find/afford and your chances of a beautiful outcome will be greatly increased. Make a good effort to research who has that good quality gear and a reputation for quality. It's up to the grower to choose their path. Whatever that path is, enjoy it.
