One thing my dad taught me to do that most probably don't do is as we inspect the tomato plants any hornworms are taken alive along with plant material for them to eat. After a day or two we let the chickens have the hormworms or the dogs, it just depends, and use the shit (frass) in the soil next year. Last year we got about 3.5 cups total so it's not a lot but why waste it?
