If you eat a plum, peach, or cherry (I think a bunch of other stone fruits too) you need to trick the seed into thinking it spent winter in the soil (cold stratification) to increase germination rate.
I'm going to test it out. The seeds rarely grow a similar fruit to the mother (too bad, the batch of white peaches was insanely sweet and juicy
).
Step 1: eat the fruit and split the pit. A pliers is perfect for this. The peach and the plum look a lot like almonds.
Next soak them for a couple hours and put them in a damp paper towel in the fridge for 3 months. I have a couple more plums, peaches, and about 2lbs of cherries to eat before I start the cold stratification
