    Mars Hydro SP150-SP250 Review

Good video reviews for anyone interested. The new SP series looks much better from an efficiency standpoint than the TS series. Would like to see Mars release some LM301H boards.

You want a compost mix. Promix is fine, I take it it is a mix of peat, castings, perlite and other goodies? That is what people mean when they say soil. Actual top soil isn't what you would want to use.

    Early frostiness // selection

Do you have any new research data on the subject? There are quite a few articles online from over a decade ago, but I am not up to date on any of it. This was the last I read on the subject: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3550641/

    Quantum Board questions

Spyder Fluence and Arden LED lights both have incredible efficiency, but are both extremely expensive. HLG make great boards. Chinese companies make some really good boards now too, for a lot less money. Other sites have third party reviews and readings on them. However any claimed warranty is...

    Early frostiness // selection

1.65 at the height given by Mars for the TS and yeah I think it was just under 1.8 or maybe just over for the SP. Out of curiosity why would you choose to drop 500 on 2 of the SP250s when you could get a 600w LM301H quantum board for cheaper from Ali? How do you like your HLG kits? Heard...

Great job recovering them, nicely done. They look a bit dark to me so I would lay off the Nitrogen a bit, but it could just be the lighting. I always use BioBizz which just involved me feeding the plants fish mix until flower, should be the same one nute until flower deal with most organic...

There is no need to be checking PH for soil/organic grows. Are you using soil nutrients?

    Early frostiness // selection

Could of snagged a Kingbrite QB for that price too. These "budget" LED companies really do make their money tricking new growers don't they. Unless someone is going to buy Quantum Boards, I would always advise MH/HPS. Mars Hydro TS1000 had 1.65 PPFD/Watt on MIGRO's review. For the same price...

Can you afford to go and buy a 400w HPS kit? I wouldn't bother flowering under that light. Likely cost more in nutrients than what you will yield from it.

What soil are you using here? Seems to be huge chunks of bark in the mix, ideally you want to sift the soil to get rid of any such stuff. The soil looks bone dry which in itelf isn't a great thing, but could also indicate temperatures that are too hot and or light that is too close. PH isn't...

Choosing the right light. LED, HPS, ?

Did you see the MIGRO readings of the mars lights? I think his claim was the TS1000w was 1.65 PPFD/Watt in a 2x2? Good to see companies giving their lights over to people for third party testing.

    Quantum Board questions

SpiderFarmer give their boards inflated efficiency ratings too, MIGRO did readings of their SF1000 and while impressive for a budget board, or budget before the recent price hike, it was far lower than the stated claims.
