Yea, I usually lightly massage the root ball to break it up a little as well as clean off the old soil from the top and around the stalk at the base. I find it helps a lot too like you said. Really speeds the transplant process up as they dive right into the new soil :)

Nope. I thought that maybe it too, maybe stress from rootbound but when I transplanted it wasn't rootbound and I went ahead repotted into smartpots just to be safe.

The first one I bought years ago was the Marijuana Grower's guide by Mel Frank. Great book, only one I bought to date. I've perused Cervantes Grow Bible which has a lot of good info as well as Rosenthal's . A book is great when you have no internet, esp when you're trying to diagnose something :)

Same here. I've heard to use it for the entire length of the grow and also no only use for veg and first 30 days of flower (60 day strain). I've used it and ran it the entire cycle several times with great results. Not sure if cutting it off at the half way mark of flowering would have changed...
