Ec meters, to bluelab or not to bluelab?

My friend swears by the Blue Lab, so you can't go wrong. Although, I've found a basic TDS meter to be even more accurate because it shows ppms. The other will probably last longer though. It's nice to have a reference point. If you can compare a new one to a tried and true one, you can see if...

    alternating flower room question

You could just put them all in one room and alternate every other light on for two hrs. at a time. This would save more electricity and results have been good with this method. Jorge Cervantes shows a commercial example of this method in his Indoor Bible. I think they reported the same yields too!

Ladies show us what you got

I've been thinking about the fact that there are some talented women growing out there and I've almost never seen their work. I'm sure we'd all love to see what the feminine touch has to offer. So, show us what you got girls. What are your approaches, favorite strains, etc.

    PPM, PH, and nute's

Try starting with 3 mil/gal. of cal mg. After adding calmag, add the appropriate amount of a/b to reach desired ppm. If your using a Truncheon meter, 1.0 ec will be at 700 parts per million. That's a good starting point. Use a good book to find conversion rates for ppm to ec. Get a feeding...

BG, You can plug your heat mat into a thermostat to get it accurate. Aim for 75 to 80 percent humidity and if you're using a dome, wipe off the moisture inside a couple times a day. Also, let the medium almost dry out before rewatering. It encourages the roots to search for water. I hope...

Plants per square foot...designing a personal cab

Frank, I'd use 3 gallon square pots and aim for a finishing height of 2 feet, focusing on the top foot and a half of growth and trimming off the bottom six inches. This should make for bigger weightier colas and improve airflow. As far as spacing, it depends on the strain, but I'd go for about 1...

    the pure

Yeah, that's a mighty fine variety. A sure bet with many quality attributes. It's just IMO not as impressive as the new gear though. People seem to be enjoying stronger, lemony flavors these days.

flower in 2g or 3g pots with coco?

It depends on your spacing a bit. I always thought more medium was better. If your doing one per square foot though, I'd go with one and a half or two gallons. Coco seems to be fine in smaller sizes as long as you give it enough water and food.

It sounds like you're having pretty good results. As far as additives you can use Superthrive as a rooting hormone (cheap), or H&G's Roots Excelurator (expensive but killer). An eonomical approach would be to use vitamin B1 along with or without a half dose of feed. Vitamin B1 has been used for...
