I had the same problem with my 250MH ballast, my ballast was'nt digital. As it turned out it was a capacitor in the ballast,cost about $40.00 to fix which is a lot less than the price of a new ballast. i don't know if digital ballasts have capacitors but maybe you should check it out before...
