First time user of manual trimming machine…comparison with hand trimming

Bags only have micron sizes, not numbers. I have 70 and 28 micron bags that I’m certain would not pass trichomes.

First time user of manual trimming machine…comparison with hand trimming

Yesterday’s tomorrow is today so I trimmed up some fully dried coarse cut buds using the Lumo-16 and the serrated blade for dry buds. As with wet buds the Lumo turned a 1.5 hr hand trim job into a 10 minute job at the expense of a bowlful of trim and kief. Pics: 1 & 2 show main colas before and...

First time user of manual trimming machine…comparison with hand trimming

Tomorrow I’ll trim machine some dry buds and see how that goes and will report back. Today trimmed up some wet blueberry. To be honest, I’m glad this year’s harvest is done. Time consuming and nerve wracking…whew! 😅

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I’ll just make dry ice hash using buds and trimmings from hand-trimmed stuff…that I have a shit ton of. I never used trimmings for hash, just buds and popcorn buds. Pics from my 2020 run using 220 micron mesh.

Instructions say to place a layer of rough trimmed buds on round wire rack then crank handle 12 revs clockwise, 15 revs counter-clockwise, then 12 revs clockwise. Then empty trimmed buds and refill with next batch. The system is geared so rubber fingers gently press buds down on wire mesh during...

First time user of manual trimming machine…comparison with hand trimming

Got to borrow a Lumo-X 16 trimming machine after years and years of hand trimming pounds of buds and I LIKE IT! Trimmed up about 4oz fresh cut buds in about 10 minutes that would have taken me about 1+ hours manually with snips. Before and after pics are obvious. Finished buds put on mesh layer...

Help - frost warning tonight 34degs

Don’t cover and don’t bother with a heater. These plants are tough and can take low-mid 30s. Your fence will protect a bit. Just realize that the temperature forecast is not at your house but in an open area…often at nearby airports or town halls with a weather station. If you get through...

can anyone tell if this is a male or female

I’d say 99.999% male. Those nuns are premature balls. Sorry.

    Heavy leaf stripping before harvest?

So my defoliation experiment was a mixed bag because I lacked good side by side control plants of same strain in same grow area with same sunlight amounts. One plant getting only a couple hours of sunlight had heavy defol but buds are thick as coke bottles with no bud rot or pm. Another plant...

Close to harvest - full moon

Science fact: the moon is always there whether visibly full or not. When visibly full it’s rotation around the earth is opposite the sun so you see it full. When it’s a new moon it’s still there but obscured by the brightness of the sun. It’s classic bro science. So if you’re trichomes are ready...

Should I water days before I harvest?

So you think the cold refrigerator water as last watering will work on outdoor plant if I can limit water to potted plant?

First time checking tricomes with magnification. Is this ready for harvest?

IMO plants finish at different times. New trichs will be clear but there won’t be enough to delay your harvest. Sometimes even one plant has different finishing times depending on upper vs to lower buds. I’ve never grown 6 plants and had them all finish at the same time. Try partial harvest on...

In need of a plant ID please

Looks delish but no idea what strain. You should realize that even if you determined the strain and got seeds for next year’s outside grow, it’s likely that you won’t end up with the same type plant due to it’s terroir. Different weather factors and time planted will yield different end...

    Is this green gelato ready?

IMO definitely. You can chop it all or experiment and take main tops now and minors in another week or so weather permitting. I almost never take entire plant because it’s so damn much work but if bud rot or PM is an issue, chop away. Looks like a nice pound+ dry.

    Time to start the harvest

Thanks. I discovered that by stacking cut branches on a stake I can carry a lot to my shed.
